and we can take all three points in this one . Mancini was full of shit after the game at Eastlands telling all and sundry that they would have beaten us if it had remained Eleven v Eleven . They'll keep it very tight with the same rigid Midfield as the last one and try to hit us on the break a la every one else at the Grove this season .

I find the whole City thing fascinating. A proud club with a long history, hardcore fans whose loyalty would have been tested by vists to the second and third tiers as well as by the unbridled success of their local rivals. If endurance strengthens the soul, then City fans must have some of the strongest.

But after striving and struggling for so long how does a City fan react when an Arab multi-billionaire buys the club as a play thing and presents the fans with the best team money can buy, one that is surely going to win something big in the near future? Has Sheik Mansour bought all those City souls as well as a football club and collection of world class players? Its the football equivalent of winning the lottery, I was poor but just becasue I bought a ticket I am now rich.

I guess it makes me think about what it means to be a fan. I have always thought that my contribution as a fan, when added to the contributions of all my fellow Arsenal fans, was the strength of the club. Our ticket purchases, buying the odd bit of merchandise, provided the basis for the club to pay for players and then succeed. But the Sheik and the Russian Oligarch have shown that City and Chelsea fans loyalty and support is totally irrelevant.

Maybe City and Chelsea fans should organise themselves and get their sugar daddies to pay them to turn up at the stadium, empty seats and a quiet stadium aren't good for the global TV audience.
