I can't see manure go another 19 games unbeaten. They should have lost at West Brom, for example. West Brom had the most shots (by a factor of three), more possession, more everything....except luck.Bring Back Pires wrote:I don't. Agreed. It's not the loyal City fans' fault their club was bought by a gazillionaire. What can they do? (apart from forming a new non-league club called FC City of Manchester!!)nexum5me wrote:bunch wrote:I find the whole City thing fascinating. A proud club with a long history, hardcore fans whose loyalty would have been tested by vists to the second and third tiers as well as by the unbridled success of their local rivals. If endurance strengthens the soul, then City fans must have some of the strongest.
But after striving and struggling for so long how does a City fan react when an Arab multi-billionaire buys the club as a play thing and presents the fans with the best team money can buy, one that is surely going to win something big in the near future? Has Sheik Mansour bought all those City souls as well as a football club and collection of world class players? Its the football equivalent of winning the lottery, I was poor but just becasue I bought a ticket I am now rich.
I guess it makes me think about what it means to be a fan. I have always thought that my contribution as a fan, when added to the contributions of all my fellow Arsenal fans, was the strength of the club. Our ticket purchases, buying the odd bit of merchandise, provided the basis for the club to pay for players and then succeed. But the Sheik and the Russian Oligarch have shown that City and Chelsea fans loyalty and support is totally irrelevant.
Maybe City and Chelsea fans should organise themselves and get their sugar daddies to pay them to turn up at the stadium, empty seats and a quiet stadium aren't good for the global TV audience.
but in much the same way that if i bought the correct ticket and became rich, i'd be very fucking pleased and live in a way i couldn't dream of now, if i was a man city fan i would (and presumably they are) be very fucking pleased if after years of turmoil i got the chance to see my team winning some major trophies and shoving a certain banner back up the arses of my nearest, VERY successful, rivals!
i don't think fans should apologise because their club is rich when before it wasn't. after all, it doesn't matter how many players you buy, you can only play 11 at once...
But I would still say that of the cars in the millionaires golf (or Tennis!) club car park, the Rolls Royce of the self made man shines brighter than that of the lottery winner.
3-1 win
Fabregas, Nasri & van Persie (& Walcott) is a formidable attack and I suspect Mancini will set his side up to be ultra-defensive to counter act this. Hart is an excellent goalkeeper but he faces his biggest test yet in a sky blue shirt.
I feel they'll take a negative approach the game, thinking a draw would be a great result. Works in our favour
I fancy us to tear these c*nts apart
HT score 2-0

Depends, if they set themselves up to stifle us & then hit us on the counterattack that’s exactly the sort of thing we’ve struggled with in the past isn’t it?M-50 wrote:I feel they'll take a negative approach the game, thinking a draw would be a great result. Works in our favour

I’d be concerned about Johnson & Silva getting a clear run at our full-backs on the break, Tevez dragging our CBs all over the place & Song failing to track Yaya running from deep.
Fuck it, I'll go for a 3-2 win anyway!
