I agree Nick could have been our Plan B the big CF to lump it up to in the last 15 or so minutes, but Wenger in all his wisdom sticks a 6'4" striker out wide. Absolutely outrageous.

That and embarassing the booing at FT

How dare Man City come for a point, it's so unfair. As for their tackling, closing down, desire to work for each other, putting their bodies on the line for the cause.. well I just hope the FA look into it.

Against Arsene? Scandalous.

hart youth, richards youth, kompany 8m, toure 16m, zabaleta 5m, de jong 17m, toure 25m, milner 24m, barry 12m, jo 20m (wtf), tevez 30m total 157m. fabianski 2m, sagna m, djourou free, koscielney 8m, clichy free, song free, wilshere youth, cesc 200k, nasri 12m, walcott 12m, van persie 2m. total 41.2m a difference of well over 100m. your kidding city. if man city arnt embarrassed they have zero shame.

1/4 Billion and you play like that? They were embarassing. It wasn't even a good performance, they just stuck everyone behind the ball.

They defended very well, but that's not the problem.

They had a chance to close Manure and put us in their wake. All they succeeded in doing was to make sure neither of us closed down top spot.

Unless their sole target is just a top 3 finish, it was a fucking cowards way to play a game. Actually, targeting a top 3 finish is a fucking cowardly target.

Surely this was the key to the booing; so, stupid but understandable. Yet did our own players know they were not the targets of the boo boys?

AW's substitutions were laughable. If he really was that desperate to protect Theo and Jack from (de Jong apart) a reasonably non-cynical team, then leave them out Saturday if you must, Arsene.

Theo's very presence was a continuous threat and maybe if he'd been on the pitch Zabaletta wouldn't have been far enough forward to tangle with Sagna. If only.

And let's be honest, there were plenty of shots last night - Cesc, Jack, Theo, RVP - but we were really unlucky with the woodwork and a goal from that very early domination would probably have given us a very different game.

A strong performance all round from the Gunners and if Manure's results start to reflect the poverty of their performances surely we are still there with a great chance of the title.

Citeh have spent £7.4 trillion on players and they basically park the team bus in front of the goal.

If I was the guy signing the blanks cheque's up there i'd expect a to see the team trying to win the game especially as we have lost at home three times already this season.

They deserved the song at the end.

we got walcott for £8m or £9M in the end - 6 up front the other 6 was payable on appearances and Soton settled for 2 immediately when they ran in2 cash probs

I was at the game, judging from the comments on this thread most other posters weren't. I booed Shitty because they timewasted from minute one. In my life watching football, at many different levels, I've only twice seen teams so blatantly time waste from KO (Jewell's Wigan and Orangebrown's Hull)
Was just talking to my mum about this, she knows football and watched game on telly, and she rightly said its v hard to see timewasting on TV (she didnt really notice it last night)
TV producers love it - every time there's a ManShitty goal kick or throw in they know they can cut to a highlight clip/montage/face in the crowd shot, without any danger of missing any gameplay.

everyman behind the ball is a tactic, an embarrassing one for a team that cost quarter of a billion but a legitimate tactic nonetheless. Timewasting is cheating plain and simple. The ref was spectacularly weak - he told Hart to hurry up half a dozen times in the first half alone yet there was not even a threat of a yellow. Their physio was on 4 or 5 times in the 2nd half - every time the 'injured' player was waved on instantly without missing any of the game. We received quite a few FKs on the edge - each and everytime the ref was just as complicit in preventing the quick one as Shitty - he wanted to be centre of attention and pace out his ten yards. At one point Hart was doing kickups rather than taking a goalkick, it was actually unbelievable - he was virtually daring the ref to book him.

I booed the timewasting and the shiteref during and after the game. I paid to watch a football match and saw two thirds of one WTF shouldnt I boo.

We were excellent - better than ManUre have played all season (FatSam played a team to lose and was rightly sacked for it)

highburyJD - I agree with every word.

I forgot about the timewasting. Like you said the defensive tactics trying to get a point; embarrasing. But the timewasting of a team battling relegation? Indefensible.

City fans, as shown on their horrible little forum, are without pride and shame if they're happy with that level of ambition.

Total agreement on the time-wasting. Hart is a great keeper but he definitely should have received a yellow early on which might have focussed his mind. Also, can anyone explain the logic please in that stupid rule that allows goal kicks to be taken from either side, regardless of where the ball went out of play. A time-wasting keeper's dream, as we see over and over again in this type of situation. And, why for goal kicks and not for corners?

Great post HDJ.
I'm glad you mentioned this point as well. Each time the ref gave a firm "Come on" signal to Hart yet he never drew the line and booked him.

I dont care what doom mongers in here think - bloody miserable gits It was a frustrating game to watch, no doubt. Echoes of Inter and Chelsea parking the bus in front of Barcelona crossed my mind. I thought the boys gave everything last night, they played well, were solid at the back and controlled the game but just lacked that final finish to hit the net. The post denied us three times, Joe Hart with 2 brilliant saves and we really measured up to the Man City "bruisers" in tackles. Anybody else see Clichy outjump Yaya Toure to a header? Unbelievable. Disappointed we didn't get the 3 points we obviously deserved but with us starting to at least show signs of good form and spirits in tough games I'm feeling buoyed by our chances.

 Yeah Fucking great!
And a mention should also go to Djourou. One every header not just against Tevez but Toure and a few others. Dominated anything in the air.
