Ipswich first leg

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've spent all of £20 on 3 tickets for that game FFS and winning 3-0 this week will just spoil things.....
Lol.

I have to say I'd rather get the job done there and sit back and relax at the Grove, should be a hell of a night, going to do what I always do. Sing till I have no voice and then carry on. :p

What block you in mate?
We're normally confined to the family encloure ( :( ) but as Arsenal sell kids tickets all around the ground for Carling Cup then we opted for block 7 in the north bank.... Looking forward to it and yes, it would be nice to go along having already effectively booked a spot at Wembley :barscarf: ! Where you going?

Are they really expecting it to kick off big time?! Or have i missed something?! There's no big beef between us & them is there? Probably just over reacting because it's the biggest game they've hosted for the best part of a decade i guess...

I don't recall there being any history between the fans, but there have certainly been fun and games there in the past in terms of pubs being trashed etc (see previous Ipswich thread).

I've heard a few "tales" from years gone by but nothing to suggest there would be widespread violence...

I think the real problem is they havent got this far in any cup competition for ages ...Norwich in the league is usually the biggest away gate but having to give up more seats than usual for the away fans (under cup rules) means bigger problems

they've got long memories....usually used to remember happy family occasions  , but now used to dredge up old fun and games.

They dont mind showing their pride at games but cup games bring out the old school lads for both sides. Remember Cardiff a couple of years ago?
Looked like a Guy Ritchie movie :D

Is it okay to wear colours to this place? Some of posts make it look like some battle was fought on the streets outside Portman Road

Most people seem to be meeting up at The Station Hotel ....only a 5 min walk away from ground ......and where your COLOURS with pride there only tractor boys ....Most of the old skool nutters have gone now and the rivialy was loosely based on them winning the cup in 78
