Well never had a 40 year and 27 year gap between titles.Pancho wrote:Cus Geezer wrote:What about the transition periods between 1911-52 and 1967-93?During Uniteds "transistion period" , we went ONE season without winning anything...you have gone several seasons without silverware...Wenger wouldnt get a away with it at a big club
well in 1968 we were the first english club to win the EC, we also won another euroepan trophy in 1991....thats between 1967-1993...
whio about you?
That's the gap between changing a title winning manager and winning your next title.
I'd be a bit worried when redface packs it in if I were you.
Anyway looks like your getting another torrid anal hammering this lunchtime, least it makes your existence worthwhile panto.

Pre-Sky sports Cus. Pinky (or whatever his f*cking "persona" is) wouldn't know about that. Like the rest of them...Cus Geezer wrote:What about the transition periods between 1911-52 and 1967-93?During Uniteds "transistion period" , we went ONE season without winning anything...you have gone several seasons without silverware...Wenger wouldnt get a away with it at a big club
Remember, Pinky. I've already discredited you as a real manure supporter on a previous thread. Just let it go son...

In those periods? 6 leagues and 3 FA cups between 1911-52 (and another league in 53). Then a double, 2 more leagues, a league cup, UEFA Fairs cup, an FA and league cup double all between 67-93 (and a ECWC in 94).
It's called history...
Well clearly not, these days. What I was implying isn't that there is a direct correlation between time spent on forums and sadness, I was saying that there is a correlation between number of 'personas', as you put it, and sadness.Pancho wrote:it gives me something to do at lunch...hwoever as an admin , you would have to spend a lot of time on here wouldnt you?tonysaunders wrote:Isn't that a bit sad?Pancho wrote:I do have several personas on several sites...
Why any grown man would visit numerous fan’s forums to invent and re-invent different personas for himself is beyond me. Still, even more so, I cannot figure out why he’d openly admit it, as if it’s something to be proud of!

On the other hand, would be something wrong if you don't win anything afterPancho wrote:During Uniteds "transistion period"Magic Hat wrote:Two seasons as we are fighting on three fronts but sure, I agree with augie in that Man U and Real Madrid are not great clubs after all look at how they had transition periods recently were they won nothing., we went ONE season without winning anything...you have gone several seasons without silverware...Wenger wouldnt get a away with it at a big club
Spending 30 M on overweight, spoiled brat scousers is it? How does that feel to have a scouser in your team by the way?
18 M On a wannabe rap gangster?
20 m On a freaking Canadian who looks like something you sweep the floor with.
7 M on players who rather play for Liverpool
shall I go on???

Samuel Kuffour...Well that's your opion but I reckon we should leave them sort of signings to Chelski.
Nicolas Anelka No thank you very much. I'd rather see our team playing non league football than having him in the team again.
Olof Mellberg Would he really accept being 3rd choice..plus he's hold Djouro back.
Fred (maybe). Ok fair enough
To name a few. I'm sure there are/were others.

Can we forget the "who is available" notion!
The simple fact is that apart from a select few everyone is available for the right price and other great players become available for different reasons!
Beckham and Horse Face are good examples of that as is a mobile loving hairdresser shagging here's £7k to keep schtum twat whose name escapes me!
There are loads of players out there who could have strengthend our squad! I'm not talking about Ronaldo's or Berbatov's either!
I tell you who was available....Anelka for starters! Sure he may have been the creme de la creme of availability but a shining example!
We have to stay in touch with the real world and accept that players of true quality cost a realistic amount these days! Sure we can pick up the odd Eboue but is he really true class? I would say that he has proved nothing apart from he is a decent squad player, nothing more nothing less!
We will have to spend to stay in touch not only for this season but seasons ahead. Whilst other genuine challengers are investing heavily in proven, quality players we are left hoping that suddenly some of our kids will mature into stars when the reality is that half of them will have little if no impact on our first eleven and will be sold to the Fulham's and Birmingham's of this world ala Larsson, Muamba and Volz!

Nobody available at the right price is just a bullshit way of saying I aint buying anyone regardless
I know we are top of the league, in 5th round of fa cup and have qualified for the knockout stages of champs lge but I am finding certain aspects of this club very depressing at the moment. I know this may be an over-reaction on my part but I honestly feel that the ambition to be a superpower has gone out the window(could it be since dein left?) and we seem happy to be living in the shadows of other big clubs. As gus has pointed out we have, along with many other clubs, a long list of future stars that came through our ranks and never made it but every single bit of our planning and stratedgy is based around these kids developing into stars and they are expected to do almost completely on their own without the guidance, experience and protection provided by signing a few established quality players
If we are honest our bid to be successful this season has hit shaky ground of late and the cup draws aint been too kind either - away to manure in fa cup and drawn against current champions lge holders ac milan is not the kind of draws we would be hoping for. It could well mean that the premiership is our best chance of success this season but whereas cups are won by teams, leagues are won by squads and our squad is too light in numbers and quality. It hasnt escaped my attention that of late there are more and more Gooners on this forum bemoaning the lack of signings and squad size and that tells its own story. Given our squad resources we have perhaps punched above our weight up to this point and have put ourselves in a position to really challenge for the big trophies but without quality reinforcements I really fear we will blow it and as I have said some time ago it is worse to be in this position and blow it out of stupidity/stubborness/inability to see the obvious, than to not have made the challenge at all.
You might be happy to proceed on a wing and a prayer but most of us no longer are
