Diaby signs new long-term deal at Arsenal

Post by DERRY GOONER »

Abou Diaby has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

The 21-year-old French midfielder played his 55th game for the Club on Tuesday night in the 3-0 win over Newcastle. It has not always been easy for Diaby since he signed from Auxerre in January 2006. He suffered a broken and dislocated ankle against Sunderland at the end of that season and spent seven months on the sidelines.

However his 21 appearances this season suggest he is back to full fitness and putting on the pressure for a regular starting spot.

After the Newcastle game, Arsène Wenger confirmed: "Abou has signed a new deal until 2012
