R I P JEREMY BEADLE

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Does anyone remember on one of his shows he got Perry Groves to dress up as Anneka Rice in a stunt where he had to prevent Paul Davis's Porsche from a crusher but had his legs tied together and consequently failed meaning that Davis's Porsche was destroyed.

Only for it to be an elaborate joke and Perry Groves came into the studio wearing a bow tie laying across the bonnet of Davis's Porsche.

I didn't imagine that, I swear it really happened.

I saw him a few times at Highbury many years back & leaving Wembley for one of the FA Cup semis against the Spuds.

RIP Jeremy

R.I.P BEADLE

Post by QuartzGooner »

Beadle was a big Gooner. He was a mate of David Dein's. I remember after the Man Utd home game in 1991, when we won the league, going round to the Avenell Road main entrance outside the Marble Halls with about 30,000 other people to celebrate. Beadle was waving at the crowd as we sang, "Beadle is a Gooner".

He was a creative genius and raised tons of cash for charity.

Top fella and a gooner to boot. Was listening to Sarah Kennedy this morning on Radio 2 and she is really gutted. I had no idea that he had raised over £100 million for charity!

RIP Mr Beadle!

He also came onto the pitch in Copenhagen before the Cup Winners Cup Final in 1994 - getting the gooners into singing mood! Everyone loved to hate him, but his programmes were really funny. Dodgy hand, cancer etc. Tough life. Fund raiser extraordinaire! Top guy, top gooner. RIP Beadle
