Surely we're better off playing the starting 11 tomorrow and rotating for Sunday?

Hope the likes of Nasri, van Persie and Fabregas play tomorrow, we need to gain an edge right away in this game, any sitting back could cost us big time.

THIS is what I have been saying for a while. (See the 'Next run of games' thread.)
This is tie is more important than it actually is!
Win this and we're into a final. Okay that's the obviouls bit but we're also on a run of games. Go into tonight with a very strong team (maybe swap a few like (Gibbs and clich and/or Arsh/Theo?) but not much more and finish the job.
We can then afford to proberly rotate on Sunday. Plus that's a whole 4 days rest!
Also we play Everton too soon after Hudderfield so rotation would be needed then....therefore more then enough reason to go strong on Tues!

Arsene's weekly update:
We will rotate the squad for Tuesday's game against Ipswich, we have no choice. We play nine games in January, it's the most we have ever played. When you look at the fixtures we had in December it means we need to rotate from game to game. But we have fantastic players on the bench and it is very important because we cannot always play with the same XI.

Bollocks, bollocks and double bollocks!

He played stronger side against Leeds than I ever thought possible. Thought he would then rest some against Wigan.....and thought he would do same against Huddersfield as they are Division 1.

But I kind of hoped that we'd be full strength tomorrow night after what happened in first leg....... :banghead: !

As long as he rotates a few!

Nasri came off fairly early...as did RVP and Theo later on.
Give Cesc a rest, could even have RVP on the bench providing Chamakh plays...not Bendtner! That includes the wing!

Where do we get the vouchers from? Might as well get smashed on the gas and water beer.
In the concourse, outside the entrance to block 5 i believe?
Anywhere round Block 5 or 6, or by the nearest bar to these blocks.

Nasri played 75 mins.....

RVP & Cesc both came off with only 3 minutes left to play....

Theo and Wilshire played the whole match.

Difficult to see any of those 5 starting tomorrow....

I wrote Cesc in stead of Theo but I later thought it was wrong. guess my first judgment was correct!

I think Nasri will play but not RVP, Cesc or Wilshire. I doubt Theo will either. Think we'll see a Leeds reply team

If it were me:

Chesney - Did he do anything on Sat?
Sagna - He's had a rest and I'd prefer him rested for Eboue on Sunday.
Clichy or Gibbs. Here both are as good as each other. Play Gibbo in both games and rest Gael.
Kos and Johan - Because....they're our only hope!

Song - rest him for Lego head but I suspect he be rested tomorrow.
Rosicky - yes him! resting Jack remember we're going to be chasing the game and they'll park the bus. I suspect that if Song does play Denilson will play here instead or he'll continue with Jack.
Nasri - Playing the Cesc Role or.....Put AA23 here for once in he's natural position.
AA23 - needs the games
Vela - Well its him or Bendtner on the wing. Or not to rest Theo
Chamakh. 8)

Wojciech
Sagna - Djourou - Koscielny - Clichy
Theo - Song - Cesc - Denilson - Nasri
van Persie

CROWD - noisy, red&white

For Sunday

Sczesney
Eboue - Djourou - Koscielny - Gibbs
Theo - Wilshere - Rocisky - Denilson - Arshavin
Chamakh

Only Wojciech, the CBs, Denilson and Theo play both the next two games.

For Everton:

The one and only
Sagna - Djourou - Koscielny - Clichy
Nasri - Song - Cesc - Wilshere - Arshavin
Van Persie

Injury returnee wise I don't think I'd play Squillaci or Fabianski even if they were available.

This won't be as straight forward as some think. If we concede then we could well be out as scoring 3 against any team can't be taken for granted.
We are in a similar position as when Wigan put us out a few seasons back, and if I'm not mistaken was Paul Jewell not wigan manager at the time.

Agreed. I'm sure that the performances against Leeds at home and Ipswich away will not be lost on him. There are some players - Nasri being one - who we just cannot afford to rest tomorrow. A strong bench is essential, but I wouldn't want to rely on them to chase the game in the last 20 mins if we were 0-2 down on aggregate. We have to start with a strong team!
