Carling Cup Final Tickets

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

used to be much worse
I remember queuing all night
now if you have been to loads of away games you are guaranteed a ticket
so in those terms a lot fairer

Are the FL or AFC stitching us up?

Post by jaybee »

According to the Football League, their Customer Service Charter states they will "....endeavour to allocate 80% of the available tickets to the two clubs competing in the final...."

Based on last years final attendance : 88,596 that should be 35,438 to each club in the Final, so why are we only getting 31,803 (some 3,635 fans for each club getting left out!) ?

Those were the days..... Went to all home and most away games in 1978-1980 when we got to FA cup finals 3 years in a row. No terrace season tickets at that time so had to collect vouchers out of the programme. Worked fine for me in 1978 and 1979 but I think I must have got a bit cocky in 1980 and decided not to rush down and buy tickets when they went on sale...."we'll be ok later in the day when it's not so busy". Fuck!!!!!!!! Had to buy for the first and only time from a tout.

Guess I was partly to blame though as I always used to buy an extra programme for a mate who never normally went so he managed to get tickets in 1978/1979 as well. Guess when you know the rules everyone just plays the game.....

Agree. And is it fair that Birmingham will get roughly the same amount of tickets as us when they hardly had anyone attend in for the earlier rounds and were less than full capacity this evening? :banghead: :banghead:

I have numerous old programs from the late seventies in my collection with the coupon cut out. (Curiously even for years that we didn't make the cup final ? )
Makes them seem more authentic, just like team changes written in biro etc.

For those that are going this match what price tickets are you going to go for?

Also me and few of the regulars I stand with in Block 6 are doing a joint booking. Will be the main guys in blocks6/5 that start off the chants at Arsenal.

If anyone wants in let me know. Also think we will be booking out a pub just for us on the day of the match.
