I kind of know what you mean especially at the moment with the run of home games.

I've been lucky in that the wife was okay with me attending all these games. I've 2 kids under 4 and my family is more important (to me) then actually attending games......just!
I offered to give up a few recently but they've either been midweek or clashed with a friend of my daughters (childrens) party which I probably would have attended anyway.

It's great that we've had a run of home games but the opposition and the times haven't helped.

Leeds: Sat Lunch time KO. Never a great time coupled with the fact many ST's gave up their seats.
Wigan: After despatching Leeds (at the 2nd) attempt is was back to the league against a poor Wigan side
Ipswich: Probably the best of the run of games but many newcomers attended this game.
Huddersfield: Sun 12pm KO! Worst time in the world. Everybody is half asleep at that time....and I knew it would be.
Everton: (tonight) Last game in the ran but I think under the lights with a better opposition service should be resummed.

Apparently we're only getting around 1400 Orient tickets so it's unlikey it'll get any further than away schemers :banghead:

Will probably see you at West Brom, maybe the Sunderland home game (may break my home game ban as apart from Newcastle and West Brom, I've got fuck all in terms of footy lined up!)

The point I am trying to make is that if, IF, we lose at home to Everton tonight, the perceived reasons for this will be that we did not buy anyone during the transfer window, and the manager is a *word censored* and the board are all wankers.

When we used to lose a game in the 80s, 90s or 00s, wasn't the reaction more of 'We played shit last night, and I am really disappointed', and that would be that, and then look ahead to the next game?

Instead now there is always a scapegoat, and it's the same old reasons and the forum is in meltdown.

There were plenty points in those decades where there were issues with the board, managers, certain players, money spent etc, but we didn't go around demanding vengeance and calling for heads to roll.

Football is supposed to be fun, and following the Arsenal a mighty craic, when did everybody get so serious?

Sorry you're so offended Boomer.....

I'm thinking 3-1 Arsenal tonight, RVP with 2 and Arshavin to get a goal to boost his confidence :barscarf:

I think alot of it is due to our expectation levels.

Back in the 80's we were no-where until George took over.
That continued through to the early 90's but things did start to get bad.

Your right I too remember "Graham get ya cheque book out" and the board even back then we had scapegoats. It was no different back then.

Then Wenger took over and took us to new heights and really put us (back) on the global map for around 10 years.
Obviously there were some disappointment but that would be fixed the next year. Now the next year doesn't come and 5/6 years have past and the days of being a top side have gone. This along side the emergence of Chelsea and now Citeh.

I know things are looking good now but we're not far off from going back to the early 80's.
