Cesc £50m to... NO, not Arselona

The second statement above I am no longer sure of.......yes he will want to go home to barca but I no longer think that they can afford him unless wenger did a deal last summer where he agreed to let him go at a reduced price if he stayed this season. Anytime you make an agreement like that it would be an absolutely stupid move (very wengerlike so  ) but especially so this season in which we seen andy carroll transferred for 35m

The first statement I could not agree more with - tbh I think if I was cesc I would rather playing with the barca reserves than line up for another season alongside diaby, bendtner, eboue, denilson etc

Thats what i believe augie.A deal was done for Cesc to stay for one more season then the club wouldnt not stand in his way this summer.

deal is done just like ronaldo to madrid, one more season and the club saved face by not seeing to be selling on barca,s terms.

Plus in Wenger World I think he feels he has readymade replcements in Nasri and Jack. So yes we will sell Cesc for decent money and it won't be invested in the team. I will wish the lad well because he has put the effort in this season unlike that pathetic excuse at Chelsea. I also feel if he had genuine quality around him he may have hung around a bit longer.

If Torres is worth 50m and Carroll 35m, I wouldn't accept anything less than at least 100m for Cesc.

Yeah... But he'll probably go for 20 - 30 million... :(

Both very valid points. The report intimated he was miffed Barca didn't do much in terms of actually making the effort to come and get him. He clearly wanted to leave (though it was never officially stated from him, his silence on the actual question said it all for me).

I thought he would go to Barca, and again another point above, if playing in a midfield with Denilson who would blame him?

Doubt he will go to Chelsea but with Torres and Carrol being sold for that money he must be worth £100m. World cup winner, proven game changing midfielder in the prem for the last few seasons, still only 23?

Whilst I've only in the last 6 months or so become convinced that Wenger has to go, I've been saying for the past few years that if Cesc goes prior to us winning one of the big 2 competitions then Wenger has to go with him. As refreshing as Jack, Nasri and Theo have been this season, this team is still all about cesc fabregas.

The Chavs coming into the fore might not be a bad thing.

We won't sell to Chelsea but their endless money will put the price up. This could mean that Barca will have to pay over the odds or....won't be able to offord him and Cesc will have to remain with us!

Doubt it, barcelona will call our bluff on that one and cesc will no doubt personally intervene to make it clear he aint going to chavsea.
