Diaby wants to play for Barca

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Be honest, what footballer on the planet wouldn't one day want to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid.....? He didn't exactly hand in a transfer request, he was just being polite to a Spanish reporter.

And the deliberately provocative/misleading headline "I would prefer to play for Barca, because I prefer their style" was in preference to Real Madrid.....not to Arsenal.....!

"IS THERE ANYBODY AT ARSENAL THAT HASN"T SAID THEY WANT TO PLAY FOR BARCA?????????????????????????????????????????????????"

1. Maybe players should be more concerned about what they could improve whilst playing their current club

2. Maybe players should quit publicly dreaming about clubs they are not good enough to go to

3. If Diaby wants to leave, anywhere, for any price, he's more than welcome to in my books.

Climb down off your moral high horses there lads.

People are NOT misreading this, they are NOT upset because they think he said he prefers the whores to The Arse.

People are stunned that such a poor player that has delivered next to nothing with us actually has the bare faced arrogance to BELIEVE he can play for the whores. It's his level of self-delusion and arrogance that has gotten people's backs up.

Maybe you should read what people write before slating them for allegedly not reading something that was wri... ah you get the point.

So, what you saying is that if given the opportunity, you wouldn't play for Barcelona?

Here's the difference; I KNOW I will never get that opportunity because I am not good enough and never have been. Diaby should know the exact same thing about himself the deluded crunt!!

Seriously though, it is also indicative of the arrogance level of some of our players and they haven't much to back it up with. This arrogance cost us points this season when a couple goals up we start the backheels and the flicks and then fuck me sideways we've just drawn or lost a game that was a cert!! :(

One example of this misplaced arrogance is Benny Bendtner. Benny thinks he is a world class striker when in reality he is championship quality at best. :banghead:

I didn't ask you to go all "USMartin" on me  , a simple yes or no would have sufficed. I agree with all your points, especially the regarding the arrogance level of our players, but that doesn't mean some deluded player can't say that they wished they could play for Barca.

Can someone point me in the direction of where he said he believes he's good enough to play for Barca or Madrid. He said he'd like to. I'd like to but play for Barca too but it doesn't mean I think I can.

He gives an interview and is asked if he'd like to play for either club and gives an honest answer. It's not like he hunted down a Spanish journalist to profess his love for Barcelona and beg them to sign him.

What a huge bit of non-news. It's really not something to get worked up over lads.

Cant understand why e coach cant see his weaknesses? Thinks he can dribble! Pressure comes in then releases ball too late.
