BARCA HOME GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

watched the 2nd half of the barca game tonight. reminded me of us really! they were one nil down but battering real sporting (whoever the fuck they are, not a name i think i've heard before!) they made and missed countless openings, then villa scored an utter beauty, then they spent the rest of the game squandering chances and nearly conceded a 2nd.
finished 1-1

Sporting Gijon mate. I imagine our Spanish equivlants say "who the f*ck?" when they see Wigan playing one of the big four on Tv.

They're not invincible and this time around I feel with the players available to us we are a far stronger team, 2-1 to us, up the gunners! :barscarf:

We have to keep the ball and let the cheateing f@#?ers chase us around for a while. This is a massive game and we are the underdogs so pressure off. Give it a go lads , c'mon..

Now i promised myself i wouldnt get my hopes up, but i just cant control myself. ( SORRY ) For some stupid reason i dont think we will lose. Barce have not been at their best of late and if only we keep Messi Quiet then who knows ???

Thats enough of being positive and on another note did anyone read the piece that all the Spain world cup winning team are meeting the Pope in Rome tomorrow, thats 8 for Barce and Cesc from us. ?? Dont know if Cesc is going but not the best timed event.

Anyway we will all soon find out. will predict a 1-0 to the Arse :barscarf:

What i want to see, is the pressing game we had when we played Chelski.
If we have that level of performance we will win!

Have to go into this game positive, give a better account of ourselves and maybe even come away with a win.

My positivity comes from these 3 points:
We concede a goal nearly every 3 games when Djourou starts
RVP has 12 goals in 9 starts
Barca weren't that great on Saturday and probably have Maxwell at left back, and Theo skinned him alive in the second half of the home leg last time

Time to believe 8) :barscarf:

This. I hope we don't give them anywhere near the respect we did last year. We just seemed to stand back & let them play around us

Everybody saying Barcelona aren't at there best, I think I'm right in saying they just won 16 La Liga games in a row, and drew last night.

we live in hope...

home game last year, cesc, andrei and gallas all played but were not fit,not much chance with 8 fit player against their 11

as for the away leg,no cesc, song, andrei, gallas rvp,and silvestre at the back...

we should do better, whether its enough..eboue in for sagna could be our downfall
