Horrible idea. I am very much in favour of getting some character into the soulless stadia that we "enjoy" nowadays, but this is absolutely dreadful and I sincerely hope that the gooners tell them club to fuck right off. I have been quite involved in an SAFC project called "ha'way the flags", where the fans are aiming to get more flags and banners into the stadium (we have a surfer flag now which should travel to arsenal and a few banners in the SWC), but that project is, as it should be, entirely fan funded and fan run. Of course you have to ensure the club dont ban the flags before they get going, but having it done through the club simply means no chance of anything with any character whatsoever.
It is quite sickening to see the club pretty much pretending it wants to see an "arsenalisation" of the stadium when, in reality, they want to simply make the place even more plastic and soulless than it already is, trying to make it look "fun" to the plastic fans watching in Singapore. Inviting fans to send in suggestions from which they will then pick the least risque, the least imaginative and the most cringeworthy is absolutely abhorrent and anyone with any love of fan/ terrace culture should be telling them to stick it up their arse.
We need to be fighting against these bastards who are running our football clubs and who are trying to stamp out the last few remaining real fans- once we give up the ghost and completely sell our souls to these corporations, the sport is fucked. Bombard the fuckers with "no to modern football" slogans, anti spurs banners, banners depicting board members sucking off rupert murdoch, whatever you can do to give the fuckers the message that if there is to be banners etc in the emirates, they should be fan designed and fan chosen. They dont want an "arsenalisation", they want a fake plastic joke of a stadium that would absolutely shame the generations of gooners who attended and made Highbury what it was. Highbury was beautiful, like many other traditional stadiums, and it wasnt beautiful because everyone sat down, shut up and displayed wholly inoffensive banners, it was beautiful because it was alive, it was passionate and it was Arsenal- this "project" will simply continue to place the emirates further and further away from that, and it is a fucking shame

He's right on the money. I love Arsenalization's attempt to get the fan culture back, but with the board picking the suggestions (and therefore being responsible) there's a good chance we're going to see some lame-o shit.
However, I respect that at least there's efforts to get the stadium some life; I just agree with safctcm that it shouldn't be moderated by the club as that stifles the creativity that makes football grounds so great.
