highbury highs
highbury highs
someone suggested that we should sing this in another topic so i thought i would do a poll i think this should be our quivilent to liverpools you'll never walk alone if we sang this it would increase our atmosphere alot as it isn't a short little chant like we usually sing and its personal to arsenal unlike you'll never walk alone anyone else think so
LYRICS:
I've seen children grow
On this field of green
On this field of dreams
The years have passed away
I've stood side by side With London's Pride
We laughed and we cried
We lived another day
To those Highbury Highs under North London skies
Yes we will remember those Highbury Highs
Those Highbury Days and those Highbury ways
Yes we will remember those Highbury Days
From Rocky,Ray and Raddy
To Dennis,Chippy,Paddy
The Rock of Tony Adams
The Joy of Charlie George
Chapman, Graham, Wenger
Yes we will remember
Henry,Bastin,Wright
And those record breaking scores
All those Highbury Highs under North London skies
Yes we will remember those Highbury Highs
Those Highbury Days and those Highbury ways
Yes we will remember those Highbury Days
May those Highbury Highs be with you all your days
May your Highbury Highs last forever
There’s one thing that's certain when they drop the final curtain
Something you can bet your shirt on The Arsenal's here to stay
All those Highbury Highs under North London skies
Yes we will remember those Highbury Highs
Those Highbury Days and those Highbury ways
We will always remember those Highbury..HIGHBURY..Highbury
Highbury..HIGHBURY
Highbury Highs say your final goodbyes
We will always remember those Highbury Highs
Say your final goodbyes to those Highbury Days
WE will always remember those Highbury Days
WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE HIGHBURY DAYS
repeat chorus

Thats the 1st time I've heard that & I thought it was fucking magic! Shame the crowd didn't look similarly impressed, but maybe they were hearing it for the 1st time too. As others have said, if Mr Daltrey could be convinced to spend a bit of time in a recording studio then "Cesc is God", my son, you have found a winner!!!!!

I managed to convert the song off of a DVD of the match that I recorded into MP3 format. Great song I play it to myself sometimes to remind me of that final day, sums up THOF perfectly.
So if anyone wants it for their Ipod or whatever feel free to PM me and I will upload it for you or send it through MSN or something.

HIGHBURY HIGHS
With the upmost respect to both Roger Daltrey and my fellow gooners, I disagree.
What I can remember from hearing it at the Wigan game was the lack of crowd participation (even though the lyrics were displayed for us to sing along with). I felt embarressed for Roger Daltrey when the chorus - which is the only part of the song remotely singable - was met with almost total silence, despite his promptings.
Can you guys remember the melody? You have to admit, it is hardly anthemic. Do you really think it is catchy enough for thousands of fans to sing along with? I'm afraid I don't.
Roger might be a gooner, and the lyrics of the tune about Arsenal, but that song was pure poop and certainly nowhere near good enough to adopt as our club anthem.
