REDaction Update - Its the big one!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hi all

So, the game we have been dreading since December is almost here.
Barcelona, and their reserves, are quite possibly the two best "football" teams in the world.

A couple of things to let you know about in advance of tomorrow's game.

1. Please get into the ground early, and start making some noise. We'll be out of both the game and the tie by 7.55pm, so you may as well make the most of not being behind whilst you can.

2. A sneak preview - you will find one of these on your seat
tomorrow. They each come with a ten-minute warranty.

3. A reminder that there is no beer available at half time - so all
the more reason to try and sneak some in to numb the pain of getting taken apart by the Spaniards.

That's all for now - see you all in the Arsenal tube at 8.05pm!

They must do. Without doubt the shittest, most embarrassing thing i have ever seen. Could you imagine if that thing was seen on the seats in the Clock End?

Red Action have turned from what was a good idea into the most cringeworthy bunch of mongs imaginable. 'United colours of Arsenal' flag, 'march' to the ground, singing the same three songs at 100mph, Banner competition, Jack Wilshere song competition and now this. The Arsenal used to have class. Please stop embarassing us and our once great club.

The flags thing invited criticism. Though I think Spurs did it as well this year. They should do the scarf thing they did a few years back, that looks much better.

B'jesus said Paddy chant 2moro methinks!

If everyone is using the flag then it will look great IMO. Scarves are much, much better though.

Bottom line is, these little flags are cringeworthy and make us look like Chelsea. Okay so it might look pretty on the telly but there's these flags and other stuff planned pre-match tomorrow night..... then we take to the pitch and if Barca muller us, we'll look proper small time mongs. I mean it's not even a quarter final ffs.

And I still clearly remember the last CL game where the club got all flag happy. A few minutes in Gibbs fell over, the Mancs scored, and the atmosphere fell completely flat as the tie was dead and buried.

At the end of the day it's down to redAction to discuss ideas like this with the club and have the bollocks or authority to say "No, that's a fucking shit idea" but it's well known that they are basically lapdogs with no real say-so. The club makes the decisions and everyone has go to along with them. Of course the club can say "we've got supporter's groups, we listen to the fans" but at the end of the day it's all just a sham. What they say goes... like 'The Wonder of You', like the 'Shout the names back' bollocks etc. etc.

radford adds that the club and all of us know what would turn the souless bowl into a more atmospheric stadium. but lets face it the club DO NOT want that sort or ideas in the ground.

the trouble with red action is that they are having to act within the guidelines dictated to them by the club. yes the flags are cringeworthy and no doubt approved by the club but the united flag was a MASSIVE mistake and that was down to red action.

radord no longer goes to the souless bowl as he finds the boozers on the HR a much better experience.

Only thing my flag will be used for is to throw at official on the touchline when he stands in my way the whole game same as every other European tie so far this season.

Thanks REDaction for providing me with some ammunition!!

I would rather use my scarf than the little flag.

I am sure it will look good on tv if everyone does it

Surely red n white scarfs could and should have been got? failing that, even the red/white cards on seats would have been better

Join the mailing list or better yet, come find someone in a redaction tshirt and share all your fantastic ideas with them.

What's that?? Oh right, you haven't got any

I'm in no way a member of RA but admire the fact some people give a fuck enough to at least try n make a diff.

(ps those flags do actually look quite gay)
Might rip the flag off the chopstick it's attached to and find another use for it
Spot on Merse, exactly what I think.

It is not the clubs fault or RAs fault that we have 56,000 that do not bring a scarf or wave it around creating a natural atmosphere. The club has given out free scarves at least once (twice if you count the ones they gave to redaction members for Reading at home in CC at Highbury a few years back) that I can remember. I'm sure each of us has one so why not bring them?

Come on you Gunners.
