Mr Laurent Koscielny

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I would like to arrogantly point out that I was one of the people to tell people to give him half a season at least and not to write him off in pre-season games!

He's had some great games in the past which means he has the potential. Everything else is consistency, which when coming from a new club just means TIME. That's all it is, just a matter of time.

And I didn't think he was at fault for Villa's goal, he was playing him offside with Djou, it was Clichy who wasn't reading the script.

Delighted for the lad but will also caution when I say that european football probably suits him better cos no real physicality about the opposition. Last night he read the game so well and pressed the barca players far more than song for example did 8)

Have to say that for me, right now, if vermaelen was fit I wouldnt be picking him in my first 11 - sometimes it just works that the partnership is greater than the sum of its parts and for me it just looks like kos and djouru are forming a really strong partnership 8) That is not me stating that tv5 isnt our top defender but as I said the team unit outweighs all other issues. Anyway that is all hypothetical cos tv5 probably wont be back before next season kicks off

Repeating what's already been said - excellent game tonight. Smart, committed, passionate. His slide tackles are world class and probably his best skill, though he has work to do to improve overall as a defender.

Kos has proven a good signing IMO, but Squillaci has been far the opposite. Wenger's 10-11 season defender transfer report card: B.

it's gonna be a great dilemma to have, first time in a while that I can remember having 3 good CBs in the squad

Dont break up a partnership that works in the middle of the season unless forced to - tv5 is gonna have to take up his place on the bench imo.

Probably the best centre back performance I have seen this season, looked calm, composed, got his decisions right- just quality. By the sounds of things he hasn't always been like that for the Arsenal, but he's certainly worth persevering with watching that like, you get some players who look okay in some games but lose it in the big games, its rare to see a lad who can handle a massive game so easily and so he probably just needs a while with a set partner and keeper to develop an understanding, no point chopping and changing a back 4 (and keeper) as communication is vital in a way that it isnt in any other area of the pitch.

YUP! Take A Bow Kos...we've all given him stick etc in the recent past, but fair do's he was feckin' AWESOME.....which not only made me incredibly proud of him and of the team (Except ebouecunt), but that if he has the focus, ability and potential to play like that one night...there is no reason why he cannot do so in future.... :D :barscarf:
