Dunphy said we would get "mashed" in the Nou Camp...Whelan carped on all through the game...Arsenal won one of the best football games in years against the recognized top team in the world..and yet we are here complaining about the coverage throughout the media.. It's fucking frustrating.REBEL GOONER wrote:john giles on rte was nearly as bad , kept going on about the 4-4 draw with newcastle for some reason![]()
ray houghton and eamonn dunphy were full of praise for the arsenal so well done to them two.

If it was Manure who just played a blinder against Barca they would be replaying it on ITV for weeks,
If it was Spuds they would release a DVD,
But it wasn't .. it was the Arsenal and the only people who are going to give credit where it's due are the fans and the club. It's a lost cause expecting the media to give us a well done, especially from the pundit tossers they employ.

i moaned on ere months ago about media bias and it was quite rightly pointed out that "it was ever thus".but just for once i'd like one of the EXPERTS to go ever so slightly over the top when we do good.a small glimmer i thought was southgate ,understated but at least pro and fair with some complimentary comments ,unlike allthe others who's only response was barca took thier foot off or its only half time.oh yea has anyone heard anything from the boy lineaker or cuntslop rednappy
brady one it beautifully look at that oh look at that

What i dont get is this desire from the media to explain away the barca loss by saying how they were clearly the better side but tired towards the end.. Surely their early bluster and "dominance" (although I dispute that to an extent) led directly into their second-half slump.
Amazing that so many are willing to ignore the fundamental fact that a football match lasts 90 minutes if their is an angle to denigrate the arsenal.
Heck, even the crummiest of lower league teams can look good if they spunk all their energy on a 45 minute spell. Having said that I am still fairly sure that barca will go through in the end, but some credit for us wouldn't go amiss.

Saw Wenger's press conference today on Sky Sports News..., asked the inevitable question about winning all four trophies..answered in the expected manner about taking one game at a time, focus and believing that we can always win..not exact words but you get the idea.. Ten minutes later headlines on same channel said Wenger believes they can win the lot...Why did they do this ?..simple to throw it into the mix if and when we bow out of something.. Shades of Wenger's so called claim that they could go unbeaten in 2002/03...
