This is also my understanding which has pissed me off no end. What should have possibly been a credit to use for the 1/4 finals of the CL IF we manage to go through is now used on a replay against Orient. Any CL game will be a Cat A game meaning we'll now have to fork out top whack if we want to go. All because wenger didnt buy a cb and continues to put faith in an inept gk.MK Gould wrote:By my reckoning this will be our 7th FAC/CL home game of the season so it is covered by the season ticket....Irish Gooner wrote:Cant see many ST holders going if its the extra cup game that needs paying.
I know I certainly wouldnt pay 50 quid to see Barry Bender, Denilson and the Spanish wanker in nets while we play Leyton fucking Orient again.
Still - should provide us with a simple path to the quarter finals so what's there to complain about!

[glass half full] This game is an opportunity for the B team to get more game time, get it right and despatch Orient. It'll build vital form for these squad players as we'll need them on the run in. The O's didn't really trouble us at all apart from their goal so we should murder them at the Grove. It's also good because we use up the last of the 7 home cup games on the season ticket, which given that Barca are still favourites to go through in the CL, wouldn't get used and would have to be carried over to next year.[/glass half full]
[glass half empty]We are going to use up the last cup game on the season ticket to watch another League 1 team against our crappy B team, Deckchair, Bendy, "Lack of" Squillaci and the Spanish Clown. The atmosphere will be shite because a large number of STHs won't show becasue of the lack of quality on show and if we do win the Mancs are waiting at Old Toilet to show us what a pile our second string really are,

They might be able to, as one game is Round 5 and the other is a Round 5 Replay.leahy wrote:itv are scheduled to show city vs villa already so i dont see how it can be.
i dont think espn are allowed to go head to head and show us at the same time.
I think that initial games and replays each have their own quota of coverage, and thus they could potentially both be shown.
I could be wrong though, and I haven't looked it up. Just seems like a discrepancy which could see us being shown.

Think your missing the point.Bring Back Pires wrote:Looks like the club have worked it out about right, as it looks as though we'll be having exactly seven home cup ties this year - no more, no less.
I guess if people don't want a season ticket that includes FA Cup games, then it'd be best to just buy tickets on an individual match basis.
I know Wenger bleats on about the 'love of the cup' but he still chooses to mix the team up a bit. I think this year we have treated the CC stronger then the FA cup.

The point is the CC is optional, priced at £10 or £20 because of the players that play. This is no different to how we treat the FA cup now.
Except that the FA cup is part of our credits. The annoying thing is the misconception that these are 'free' games. They're not!
This is why the ST is a higher then most clubs as I've paid for 7 extra games. That's about £238 on the cost of the ST. (£34 x 7)
Apart from the CL I'm paying (£34) for cup these games:
Leeds
Huddlesfield
and soon to be Orient.
I'm going Orient in anycase and I'll make no bones about it as I try to go most games regardless. But the point is all ST holders have already paid for the reply without being asked and it will be hard for those not able to sell on TX.
So it's games like these and some of the 'weaker' CL games were we see low attendance and the ST cannot sell and fans wanting to attend can't!
I'd prefer the 'opt' out option.
This is the same happens after cup 8 where the game will be automatically charged on next years renewal unless you inform them.
The cost for the FA Cup should be lowered. £20 and £30 tickets. (more then the CC)
And all cup games made optional 'opt' out.

Sounds about, right.topgoon wrote:If we managed to get our finger out play the right team and beat Orient then our match with Manure will probably be a 12.45 Saturday kick off as they play Marseille in their 2nd leg just 3 days later.
So the line up for them will be a mix as the alcoholic Glaswegian won't risk injuries for a cup game that he considers less important than champs league.
Hopefully AW lies about putting a weaker team and then plays our full first team. He normally lies to us the other way so not exactly a big deal.
Look at who's left in the draw, if we can get past the O's and Manure we are in with a good chance of lifting the FA cup............all ifs and buts I know
we should of done the job yesterday. But well done to the O'S...!!!

Isn't Ticket Exchange effectively an 'opt out' option, give a take three or four quid?Boomer wrote:And all cup games made optional 'opt' out.
The FA Cup's a grey area really. Yes, we drew lower league opposition this season and the prices could've been lowered, but next season we could get Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea, and we'd end up fielding stronger teams again (thus justifying the £34 fee).
I just don't get it really. If I felt that strongly about the FA Cup issue, then I'd simply not buy a season ticket and pay on a match-by-match basis.

I don't see this as a strong issue personally but I can see the draw backs and how it affects others.Bring Back Pires wrote:Isn't Ticket Exchange effectively an 'opt out' option, give a take three or four quid?Boomer wrote:And all cup games made optional 'opt' out.

The TX is only an option if the game is sold out and then if someone is willing to buy from you. So no guarantees.
This is why some of the cup games are technical sell outs but there's loads of empty seats.
I know how your analogy works but I've already paid for 7 games regardless of the team. Also with those teams you choose they would be Cat A games. It's swings and roundabouts but there's no option which is the issue.
It would work better if you could Opt out.
The club does it for the 8th cup game why not from the 1st?
As I said the cup credits doesn't work and it's also stopping fans from attending. It would also make the ST greatly cheaper for some.
