Wilshere's chant

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

When was the board meeting?

I’ve also just had a board meeting, with myself, & there was a unanimous vote of 2 to 1 that we should go for the “I’m a Loser Babyâ€

I would love to here a more varied repertoire of songs at the Grove as opposed the usual '...we're by far the greatest team' sung half a dozen times a game and hopefully stop the pathetic 'Who are ya?' chant, What was wrong with 'Who the ******* 'ell are you?'

If it means adapting a couple of Celtic songs for our own needs, then so be it.

I would love to here the following resonating around the Grove

I agree with this

Fuck Celtic, not as if we play them every year is it.

The grove needs some good songs to get the noise going. Hopefully the jack chant takes off after Wednesday and Sunday.

We have no anthem at all and we need one!

On reflection and having seen the Celtic fans doing a version in the video above, I have to say I've changed my mind about this song and can now see how it could work. The 'Do, Do, Do, bit at the end gives it the 'feeling good and having fun' aspect and an opportunity to go a bit mad dancing. 8)

Exactly right Hleb

It will sound good in numbers!

Will be hard work trying to get this going though. It has been circulated well and loads seem to know about it now.

Do you think its been shortened enough to make it simple enough. Many of the versions had to many verses and they left out the most important verse which had a change in tempo.

I think it's about the right length for a good chant mikey. The second verse could probably do without 'You were' and start directly with 'Born to be a gooner' as it would make it seem less rushed coming after the first lot of 'Just Can't Get Enoughs' (but that's probably just a timing thing with me).

The only thing I was a bit worried about was rhyming 'song' and 'of' at the end of the last two verses, but they sound close enough to a rhyme to work. So top marks to the creators. 8)

Cheers for the input Hleb. Once it starts flowing we will probably cut out the "you were born and just let it be "born to be a gooner so it flows better

Have worked alongside Steve the noise to get this created and circulated.

Yes Crocit will be good if you can, think were going to try it on Wednesday at the Bailey and then in the ground.

Apart from that its going to be sunday at walkabout
