As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Chesney's grandad is coming over from Poland for the match, first time he's ever left the country!

Robin Van Persie just been confirmed as Captain for Sunday....Wenger says he hasn't fully decided on starting eleven, but confirming RVP as Captain may have set the tone..that is a strong starting team.

good. RVP has the respect of the team and has been here a long time , he deserves to wear the armband at wembley. 8)

I imagine that Brum must have been hoping that the horse of the year show had been on at Wembley last weekend.....maybe followed by the Rugby League Final.....

Fingers crossed that it's just as we like it :barscarf: !

Appreciate the support, but why does an Arsenal win do Sunderland a favour?

Europa League places go to 5th in the prem and the winners of the league cup and FA Cup. If the cups are won by a team who qualifies for Europe through their league position, then the european place goes to the next team in the league.

If Birmingham win the cup, they qualify for the Europa League and then only 5th and possibly 6th can get into the Europa League through league placing (and if a team from outside the top 5 wins the FA Cup then only 5th gets in through the league).

Currently SAFC are 7th- we wont catch Spurs who are about 10 points ahead of us, and it is unlikely that we will finish ahead of Liverpool. We might finish 7th though as we have a good run in and are only competing with the likes of Bolton, Stoke and Newcastle. Only an Arsenal win in the cup final keeps alive the hopes of 7th being good enough for a European place. If Birmingham win, we have to catch Liverpool to have a hope of qualifying.

Since we havent been in europe since 1973, this is pretty fucking massive to us, so we need you to win this one, then one of the top 5 to win the FA Cup- if that happens, 7th gets us into the Europa League :barscarf:
