Thank You FIFA...

Post by FrenchGun »

I just read something on a very accurate source that Sepp Blatter (or whatever his name is) plans on seriously including the rule of limited foreigners in the teams od european championships. The meeting where he's meant to propose this is Sydney, on may 23rd something like that. The required number of local players in each team should be at least 6.

Does that mean we'll have to line up Walcott, Justin Hoyte? And maybe that also means Arsène will have to buy Robinson between the post, and and for a final touch we get SW Phillips and Bent for 25 millions each!

To answer another thread on this forum: How about Tupac's "Me against the World" for our Anthem?

It's been talked about before but I don't think it'll work. Seeing that the meeting is in Sydney, could Ram do the whole world a favour

its impossible to enforce as it would go against european labour laws that state a person of eu nationality can work freely in any eu country. also that proposal would activly discriminate against a person directly becuase of their nationality also illegal

I think the 'home grown' aspect of his plans allows for foreign nationality players that have either come throught the youth structure or have had a certain amount of club service. I don't think it will actually affect us much as we are but could influence future purchases.

Oh, I've just seen my own joke there! I suggested that we might buy other players in the future

i don't always see what the problem is with the non english teams

this country nowadays seem to want to be more EU so whats the best thing to pull out the hat then Arsenal

personally we should do what the spanish does & only allow 4 non eu's to play in a game

It doesn't bother me if the majority of players in the prem were foreign as all i want to watch is good football and they provide that along with flair, and as far as england are concerned it should be if you want to beat the best teams in the world then why not play against their players week in week out
