Stewards - new theory

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

does anyone actually think that if cashley was open gay/bi there would be as many songs about it? it isn't the fact that he is(supposedly) gay/bi to the masses it is the fact that he apparently stuck a phone up his back side and he is married to a women and he is denying it. if he was a gooner do you think many people would say anything about the accusations? would they say anything about him if he was open? the answer is no, not many anyway and whoever did would surely be escoreted out of the ground as it is unfair to abuse someone for their way of life even if you disagree with it. what the politically correct nutters need to understand is you can talk about a subject without being discriminative towards it. saying a man is black is not racist. waving an inflatable monkey at him is. saying a man is gay is not homophobic. laughing at a man for denying it is not eiether. laughing at a man for sticking a phone up as back side again is NOT homophobic. taking the p*ss out of him for enjoying the company of another man would be homophobic. maybe there is a thin line(i don't think there is) but the PC brigade need to open their eyes to the real world grab a sense of humour and listen to what is said rather than what they think you are saying.

Jaysus! I go off on hols in Portugal for a couple weeks and world war three breaks out!!

Have to say I don't find the whole CashleyJudas phone thing offensive but I detest homophobia and racism.

What CashleyJudas was "caught" doing with his Nokia isn't necessarily (or specifically) a homosexual act; I had a previous girlfriend that (without getting too graphic) was into, let's say, "interfering" with my Bournville Boulevard. Now, I wasn't into it at all to be honest, but she reckoned a few of her previous boyfriends had quite enjoyed said interference.

I dumped her. :?

My point is, we are not abusing CashleyJudas for being homosexual (if, indeed, he actually is) we are laughing at him for being "caught" doing something pretty funny and embarrassing with a mobile phone.   If we were chanting "F*ck off you dirty f*ggot" at him, that would be homophobic and wrong

Football is about fun and banter and singing and chanting. The mobile phone suit was hilarious, the CashleyJudas bank notes were class. My wife used to work with a gay guy that supports QPR (and knows his footy) and he wasn't offended by the phone gags - he thought they were very funny.

Remember - Racism and Homophobia are the last resort of the small minded and the ignorant. I would say the vast majority of our fans don't fall into those categories.
