Mate, Djourou, 27 starts 0 losses in the league.. he's our lucky league charm!!augie wrote:Not exactly a shock is it ? The only shock in that story is the thought that he is planning to give out these new deals in a bid to stave off interest in these players from our rivalsWhat the fcuk would these clubs want with rosicky, an injury prone and largely unproven djouru and even a defensively questionable clichy ?

I like djouru as a defender and always have believed that he could be a real player for us but could is the operative word. The very fact that he has missed most of the last 2 seasons should be enough of a reason to prevent any big club from signing him

Hardly a shock at all - why should the club pay a top new player 100K when it can pay Rosicky 75K. What sense would that make? Oh yeah we might win things, but since winning things might cost us money and lower our share price why would we consider that?augie wrote:Not exactly a shock is it ? The article says:
"Samir Nasri, Andrei Arshavin, Gaël Clichy, Johan Djourou, Tomas Rosicky and Lukasz Fabianski are all out of contract in June 2012 and the club wants to secure all six on new deals."
Personally I think Rosicky should be sold this summer.
Clichy is declining, his confidence is shot. Without a serious re-working of his game he is no longer at the standard most want to see.
Arshavin? I would hope he gets replaced with a player of equal quality but better work rate though he has improved a bit in February on a poor year's performances.

If Rosicky gets re-signed, I'll have to say Wenger's really losing a grip on reality. There are points to make in favor of Denilson - not points I agree with, but at least some semblance of argument, he's young, whatever - but Rosicky... I see no positives. He has looked shitty for much of the season, save a couple good games very early on. He's not at the level of a top-table Premiership side and I think Arsenal is the wrong fit for him at this point in his career.
He should go to the Bundesliga again where he could really thrive once more.

In all seriousness if that were true what does that say of the Board that's lets him stay on in such a sorry state mentally as you are suggesting? I'm sorry but the reality he isn't doing anything the Board doesn't weant done and that is why they will not sack him - because either he will tell the truth about that which would be a public relations disaster , or they might ma=ke a real mistake in hiring his replacement and up with a manager they will have to sack because he will demand the additional money and that will reveal the truth they have kept in the dark about because so many of us prefer that.Barriecuda wrote:If Rosicky gets re-signed, I'll have to say Wenger's really losing a grip on reality.
