drinking in view of the pitch

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

the thing that makes me laugh even more though was did he really think that not one person around him was going to say to the stewards, fucking idiot
I cannot believe that someone did say something to the stewards, what kind of wanker grasses up a fellow Arsenal supporter, genuinely shocked at some of the dickheads we get in that ground.

I remember standing in the Clock End it would always stink of weed.

Was that a deliberate pun? 8)

Fucking right, the North Bank (even after it was all seater) always used to smell of weed.... the only noise you'd hear is "pass it on". And the club allowed you to drink in the stands as little as 8 or 9 years ago, it was only CL games where alcohol was banned (although from memory you could still have a beer under the stand?).

rules/laws in this country are crap...In Dec 2009, we went to Berlin for a few days & Hertha Berlin were playing Bayer Leverkusen on a friday night. Me & my mate went to the game while the girls went shopping. Was amazed we were allowed to take beers to our seats & the glasses were big heavy duty plastic steins ! not like the quishy plastic cups at the grove...also they let you smoke anywhere in the stadium.
hope u get away lightly minty

Thats why I always bring in a miniture bottle of Talisker. 100% stronger and and 100% slyer.

Really harsh mate, but you did yourself no favours by admitting it. If you had played dumb and said you didnt realise it was an offence the onus would have been on them to prove intent and due to the minor nature of the offence would not have been worth a ***** over, thus they probably would have sent you packing with a £30 fine.

Police are like any other industry, as in they all have targets and KPI's to hit. If you present them with an easy win they will take it. In footballing terms you offered them an open goal.

It sucks but the way the law is set up in this country is to lie and deny everything. No one is rewarded for honesty anymore. :(

i smoke myself so to be fair it did not bother me, but you cant expect in a ground full of people and children that someone will not say to a steward

was taken to the police station and am due to appear in highbury magistates court next week.
whilst at the police station i fully coperated and admitted the charge.
There is no excuse for this and it was totally my fault.
What i need to know has it happened to anyone else on here and whats the worst that can happen to me.
any advice greatly recieved.
cheers
this is what happened next.

I was gonna write this last night but after the debarcle of the carling cup final
I couldn't do it till now.
went to highbury and islington magistartes court on friday morning got there a bit early only to find that there were 10 of us on the list for court 1.
We were early and got in first only 2 other people turned up and one of them was unable to be tried as the old bill had not got the right interpreter for him.
I was on first fearing the worst looked all humble and sorry and got a £200 fine with £85 costs and another £15 for admin a bit harsh I thought but at least no ban.
Whilst in court the court caller gave me my papers with statements from the police and the steward that started the the whole thing.
the police statements were fair seeing the state i was in but the stewards was complete bollocks.
EAST STAND LOWER by the centre line beware the steward who was a woman lied through her teeth.
she said i was jumping all over the woman in front of me not true
but must most embarrising and read out in court she said that i had pissed myself one of the magistartes was nearly laughing.
I didnt have to let you all know this but its a heads up that if you sit on the EAST STAND LOWER just keep an eye out for the bitch.
At the stoke game the people who sit around us were all commenting on what a busybody she was and how out of order her behaviour was aswell.
Funny thing yesterday at wembley my mates all had the mixer drink cans
(JD AND COKE- G AND T) and got in no hassle when inside they were frisked by the stewards who took the cans opened them poured them in to plastic cups and told them enjoy the games lads I couldnt friggin believe it.
There you have it kind gooners just be sneaky and dont get caught.
And thanks to everyone on here for the messages and support,
now we will have to settle for the treble and not the quad.
Come on you gunners :barscarf:
