Barcelona Second Leg Football Thread

Post by QuartzGooner »

Vermaelen - out.
Theo - out.
Van Persie - out.

Cesc - doubtful.
Song - doubtful.
Song - doubtful.
Rosicky - doubtful.

Guardiola with a back injury doubtful to be at the stadium, and Barcelona with injury worries of their own (Valdes, Puyol).

Can we do it?

One Song, you've only got one Song

You can do it, but obviously it's going to be ridiculously difficult. Having said that Barca didnt look too clever in their game against Valencia the other day, a very scrappy performance and a very lucky 1-0 win

No. Not without RVP and Cesc. The quality needed just isn't there... :(

We have to score at least once over there and I just think RVP is the only striker with the technical ability at that level who really can bang a goal out of nowhere. I hope I'm wrong, but I think our season will probably collapse at the whores and the manc filth. :(

Haven't really got a chance... :? ...but f*ck it, I'm going anyway...:barscarf:

For me it won't necessarily be the result, but the performance.

I want to win, but more importantly I don't want us made to look stupid.

I just want to be there, get behind the lads and fingers crossed maybe see a historic night.

The big miss for them obviously is the keeper- try and take some early shots at them and see if the other lad is up to it or not, it'll be a huge night for him and he might just fail to handle it, in more ways than one! I think if you can grab one fairly early you'll go on to win- fail to and i think they will capitalise with a goal and then keep enough of the ball to stop you getting the chances needed to get back into it

  I was going to say actually, this will be one of the tests for Wenger. He really needs to make tactical adjustments and it will be interesting to see if he suddenly does so, or if he stubbornly sticks to his usual game plan. Obviously we all expect him to be stubborn, but if he wants to pull off a massive result for the Arsenal, I think he will need to accept that he simply won't manage it if he tries to get Arsenal playing the way he usually does. Its a huge test of Wenger- if he fails this one you do wonder if he is the man you need in charge, since it would suggest he also wont deviate from his stubborn "project" and thus wont make the few signings you need to really give you a good chance of another period of success

We need song and cesc.

For me Song is the number 1 player to show "Arsene Knows" because I was there when he played against fulham and was shit.

And I was there last year, were it was the best minute of my life, then messi ect
