Make no mistake with Van Persie on the pitch we would have lost but the sending off was unreal really unreal.
Our players were a disgrace to not complain at full time. Well done Wenger for having a go in the tunnel.
We were simply blown off the football planet. Fabregas did his bit for Barcelona. He isnt the player of last year and now should go because I dont trust him.
We saw that we really are not the team we thought we were. We dont deserve a trophy this year.
Wenger had his way and it didnt work.
This was an insult to Arsenal FC history.

Yes indeed but the ref didn't see that, RVP's was blatant.Captain Fabregas wrote:then abidal and the other player that grabbed RvP's throat should of been sent off?SCREAM AIM FIRE wrote:It was a ridiculous yellow card...but lets not forget he slapped a player round the face for his first yellow...could and probably should of been a straight red.1989 wrote:Sending off cost us big time. We were winning at that point too.
We just can't catch a break. The club is cursed.

BBC pundit Lee Dixon just called it a ludicrous decision and he is right - the whistle had only just gone when Van Persie had his shot, and how the heck was he expected to hear it anyway over the noise of a crowd of 95,000. I won't gloss over the fact that Barca were dominating possession, but the score on the night was 1-1 when that decision changed the rest of the game

Trying to put as positive a spin on it as possible,
I hate that vile excuse for a football club called Barcelona but we're out and that's that.
The number of free midweeks has increased and it will give the players a much needed rest, Let's face it the "B" are awful and can't be trusted to take the pressure off the first team.
Shit outcome tonight but there's a league to be won.

We can concentrate on the league now![]()
Since when has footy ever been 'one chance'/ 'one goal' ? cos' that's all we created. To blame one player ( and surprise ! the player of choice ) is a fuckin laugh mate. £28 Million to make £40 Million for reaching the next round of the Champions League.
But whatever anyone says, the decision to send off RvP is one of the biggest jokes in European football

Fabregas should never have played, Rvp never have been sent off, Bendtner is not to blame, Wenger is to blame for not spending money in January on a new defender or two.

Overall thoughts:
- The RVP red card was the worst decision I've seen for years. I honestly question the integrity of the referee (and UEFA) after that, and the other decisions made during the game.
- I was proud of our performance, even though we lost 1-3 and failed to have a shot on goal. We at least played with heart and passion, and can only do so much with a bent referee in charge.
- Almunia looked destined to go off injured. He played very well, but I wanted to see who'd be the replacement 'keeper if he had gone off.
- Big picture: had AW not rested our first team back in the group stages before we'd won the group, our players wouldn't have been subjected to this tonight.
