Barcelona Second Leg Football Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They have a CL game themselves next week don't forget, so they might not be at full strength either.

Fuck that dirtbag Almunia, scummy little shitebag
His only fault was not at least attempting to dive for the penalty apart from that he did nothing wrong was unlucky for Xavi's goal it took an awful deflection off Sagna

Didn't Inter Milan do exactly that in last year's semi-finals?
Yeah, Inter Milan. Managed by a guy who last lost a home game probably when we won a trophy.

The day we're even half as good defensively, I'll eat my hat.

To be fair Kos and Johan were brilliant but Clichy too many times was exposed out on the flank i never got people bashing him but defensively he was very poor along with dwindling on the ball way too many times.

I dont like this guy, he will fall for every Barca con. Hope i am wrong :(
Well well well :banghead: :banghead:

That said, Bendtner had a perfect chance to put us in a great position and his first touch showed the level of his ability. His goal could have seen us through and negated everything else including the refs incompetence.
Plus had RVP not acted like a kid with a chip on his shoulder he would not have had the first yellow.

Not at fault, was just wrong footed. How many 1 on 1s did he stop? Not a big fan but should leave him alone tonight

Mikey, dont waste your fcuking time mate cos the guy is just an utter *word censored* Tbh I never even acknowledge his posts much less respond to them despite his best efforts to provoke a reaction :awnker:

I believe I have always stood up for the mods on here but their unwillingness to take this *word censored* to task is beginning to grate with me tbh and I really hope his place on this forum will soon be coming to an end 8)

Hope it was giving bendtner a kick up the hole.
Keown and Cascarino are total dickheads had Keown forgotten his past
No idea wat u on about ? What did keown say that was so wrong ?
That RVP gave him an excuse to get himself sent off for taking a shot :?
You are being harsh to say the least - it was very evident throughout his comments how much of a gooner he still is.

He is there to do a job though and has to try and bring some degree of obectivity to the table. There are already enough biased and blinkered wanks of pundits on TV as it is.

To be fair yeah he was waiting for the shot before diving ive never been a fan of that but when the players stutter in the run up you cant help it but still i feel a goalie should always pick a side and go there.

There once was a boy called Louder,
About Wenger he couldn't be prouder,
He would go on the hunt,
and act like a c@nt,
With an argument with more holes in it than gouda.

I wasn't saying that our defence would be capable of grinding out a goalless draw; merely arguing that for all of Barcelona's strengths, it is possible to stifle them (with the right approach).

Just got back to the hotel. That ref ruined the game. We were outplayed but may well have gone through if that twat hadn't been officiating. *word censored*. I was crapping myself when average al came on but he did OK, which is more than can be said for Cesc!

As one of his biggest critics I agree with this, he showed a lot of balls tonight, took 2 blows to the face stopped I think 4 1 on 1's did what he had to do, no chance to stop the goals (maybe could have done better with messi's one but then if he took him down it would have been a red card since messi had lifted the ball over him before the tv broadcast could even show it

Would have like to have seen him at least dive for the pen but I don't think he'd have got it anyway.
