I have never held the belief that a club legend automatically makes a good manager. After all Wenger was not a great player in his day but is a fantastic manager, look at Jose for example.
Bergkamp, Adams and Wright are all legends but if Ian Wright took over, oh my God Read the guys autobiography for proof he is a tube We would need someone with a pedigree and not just let our hearts rule our heads. And someone who will spend to strengthen sometimes, special one for me
Any player can leave or retire from this great club as proved with Henry, Viera, Pires, Overmars, Anelka, Brady, Adams, Keown, umm Stepanovs but so help me god if Wenger goes I will not leave the house for days, curtains drawn and a bottle of scotch by my side.
It will be awful and I dont want to think about it.

TA6? If you want to learn what it's like to hate someone you idolised (bit like Spurs and Hoddle), fine, but TA6 as manager would be a car-crash of a choice. Pat Rice is a good coach but not the main man. And Bergkamp?? The man was (is?) a genius on the pitch, one of my all time idols, but he has shown nothing in terms of the personality or desire to be a good manager. Let him enjoy his quiet retirement in peace.
Of the established names, I like Frank Rijkaard. Villarreal's manager, Manuel Pellegrini, is also impressive. Gordon Strachan might be a laugh.
Of course, we could always do a Terry Neill and steal Juande Ramos....
i think that wenger will undoubetedly have a huge influence in whoses next but there is no point in worrying about the inevitable - grimandi and garde sound good, but if i had a choice the backroom staff would be as follows:
Manager - Christopher Wreh
Assistant - Nelson Vivas
1st team coach - Fabian Caballero
Fitness coach - John Hartson
Youth team coach - Dave Jones
Physio - Dr Shippman
Head Scout - Paul Merson
Director of Football - Vinny Jones
I am going out into the left field here (nothing unusual there I guess ) but I would want Del Bosque. I know that might be a strange selection but to me he is a quiet no fuss manager like wenger who the players would trust. His priority would always be the team not himself and he knows how to win the big one(champs lge).
The support of moanino I find it amusing - I have always been practical in that a winning Arsenal team is far more important than a stylish looks good on the eye but never quite making it Arsenal. Some fans come on here saying the opposite and how great it is to watch the football we play and while I do agree to a point I also feel that at the end of the day trophies is what it is all about and moanino does bring the cups home. However I feel that jose's priority is jose and I wouldnt want the *word censored* at our club for that reason.
I agree totally with the reservations of former players returning as manager - TA6 I thought a few years ago would be a cert but his flrtations would managerial positions to date hasnt been good plus since he has "gone dry" I find his philosphical comments and the way he talks a bit hard to lessen to (where has the passion gone ). Ian Wright would be a disaster that wouldnt take too long to happen but the problem with all former players mentioned is a lack of experience.

Good call on del Bosque - just because he worked at a ***** club like Real shouldn't take away from the fact that he's a very good coach.
If we went for Mourinho, I would seriously consider handing my season ticket in. Good football does matter to me, not to the exclusion of all else, but certainly it has to be part of the equation, and we wouldn't get it under someone as cynical and utilitarian as Mourinho. And you're right, the ego of the man would be very difficult to stomach.

I think Vicente del Bosque would be too old and wouldn't take the club forward. He is 57 right now so if Wenger leaves in 5 years, del Bosque will be 62. Don't think it's a good option, I like the Frank Rijkaard option though which was mentioned by 26may1989. He is young, likes to play attacking football and now has good managerial experience.
