I'm gonna sing my heart out at Old Trafford...Who's with me?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You have to stand, even at home games. Clock end and northbank lower tier should all stand. Dont give a fuck who is behind you.

Upper tiers and the east /west yes sit!

Look,i'm actually a supporter of safe standing areas in modern day stadia and was also 'standing' in the East Stand paddock before the majority of you moronic 'little boys' were born.

What I do object to is when I take my elderly father (supporter since the war years) to games only for him to see very little of it due to some dickhead who can't stay on his arse for more than 10 seconds.

My really big gripe is the illusion many have that in oder to qualify yourself as a 'real fan' you have to stand the whole 90 mins. Sorry to say it but the atttudes already displayed by some in this thread is indicative of some of the nobs who have infested this club since the move to the Ashburton.......

Mikey, I agree but since the move to Ashburton, the areas have obviously merged to one almost. This 'unwritten rule' seems to have been forgotten.

Upper tiers you get no standing really and a better view. Big games the lower tiers clock end/north bank seem to stand.

shame we cant have safe standing, would love all to stand so sone of the younger gooners can see what it used to be like.

Though i doubt you ever be able to surge like the old northbank! :barscarf:

Well aren't you the big man. This forum seems to have a fascination with having to stand in order to enhance your credentials.
no one said anything about 'credentials' , just about looking forward to saturday and making an atmosphere. no need for your sarcastic comments and opinions.

if you hadnt noticed this thread is about saturdays AWAY game, where the vast majority do stand and sing, but obviously not you.

I got called a *word censored* after my first ever post too!

I appreciate there are some who are unable to stand for long periods, or who cannot deal with the constant up/down motions, but there are games where it will be obvious all will be standing, and Saturday is one of those. Upper Tier at Emirates is a safe bet for those who prefer to sit down, but going to an Arsenal away game and expecting to remain seated is just wishful thinking.

Wow havent I caused a little storm in a tea pot.

Anyway to say my piece, NO I dont feel the need to stand to establish my credentials (As im a double hard bastard anyway and am so hard I use chuck norris beardy hairs to floss with  ) , YES I feel the need to stand as I believe thats how football should be watched.

Clearly if im stood infront of someone who is infirm or has a disabilty, well I wouldnt be standing to start with as that would be kinda cold blocking their view.

What gets my goat and hence my original comment is when some of these idiotic / passionless Arsenal fans shout some profanity at me like "sit down you fucking mug" or speak to me in a really patronising voice saying how "how they're a season ticket holder and they'll call the steward if I dont sit down" . Those souless bastards can fuck off and die, and should be watching the game on ITV if they cant be arsed to get involved.

In all my time of watching the arsenal if someone stands in front of me , then I just, well stand up myself. Perfect. Thankfully I sit in the Clock end lower most games and we all pretty much stand up anyway on most match days.

And like someone posted before if you want to sit , visit the upper tier. Everyones happy.

Take him to the Upper tier, nobody stands up there. Nobody bloody sings up there except the big matches. It is easier to get a ticket up there than the lower tier anyway.

'little boys' comment is unnecessary, ruins your argument really.

I love the away atmosphere for Arsenal, we have some great travelling support. To me, away games are one of the last vestiges of the old era of terraces, songs, and 90 minutes of passion jumping up and down.

It sounds like from what I'm reading that the Emirates (among other places) really do need a safe standing section. Let those who want to stand, stand, and those who want to sit, sit. Put the standing sections where the rowdiest support traditionally was and everyone is happy.

I will be singing and STANDING.

Do I actually give a fuck if someone is sitting behind me? No, they can stand up and get involved or piss off to the opera.
