Fabregas a JOKE

This team lacks a REAL CAPTAIN, a Tony Adams, Vieira, John Terry.
Adams was 21 when he got the armband and John Terry is a c**t.
John Terry may well be what you say he is, but I tell you one thing, if he had been our captain over the last five years we would now have a number of trophies in our cabinet. He is a great leader and when on a football field exhibits all the traits that our mob are incapable of showing.

I love Fabregas and will be gutted when he does go. He is a good man, I can never question his committment when on the field and he has more character than twats like Diaby and his France pals will ever have.

Maybe if Arsene gave him a proper team with a proper philosophy to play in, he may not hanker so much to go back to Spain and play in a proper 'team'.

Agree 100% with this mate. Fabregas has shown in the past what an inspiration he is. He clearly wasn't 100% fit the other day and he still wanted to play and I dont think that's because its the Nou Camp - I just think that's the player he is.

Remember Barce last year at the grove when he practically dragged us back into the tie, let alone the through ball to nasri a couple of weeks ago.

And in the prem, what about the Villa game where he came on for 20 minutes, scored 2, won us the game and then went off again.

Yes perhaps he's not as good a leader as an Adams, but then few people are. What he definitely is is one of the few inspirational players we have and if we lose him it'll be disappointing for sure.

Remember the handball against Spurs?

Post by AL5Gooner »

I've only managed to renew my ST this season so comments on Fabregas will be lacking in "experience", however after completely unexplained handball v Spurs (I thought he was looking for an exit) and Wednesdays back heel. Fuck Off. No Viera or Adams.

totally different being there augie

next day saw a brit paper (guradian?) with a grid of nasri's 1st half touches
point was we were too defensive - all 2 dozen odd touches wr in left back position

we wr set up to let the fullbacks go and stay narrow
v Sezc I remember 4 shots only, 2 by messi - one awesome run with an offbalance shot str8 @the keeper + the goal from Cescs mistake
then 2 efforts from fullbacks, adriano from an impossible angle and alves from over 25 yards

they dominated posession but did not work the keeper till we had 10 men

mascherano saying ow we had 20 shots so it wasnt about being ten men is bullshit
I was going to make an inappropriate comment about his mum not moaning and rophynol but I'm pissed and I'll leave it

I have all the respect of the world for Fabregas. He's a very gifted player and there's no doubt he has saved us quite a few times. I have no doubt of his commitment to Arsenal... However!

Everyone here has been once guilty of slagging a player for his commitment or his attitude. I don't see why Cesc should get no blame when he clearly was nowhere to be seen vs Barca.

For all his commitment to Arsenal, on an important game like this one, he bottled it royaly IMO! Litterally "hugging" the Barca players in the tunnel before the game, this as the opposite team captain! On a game where we need to keep a clean sheet, our captain just gifts Barca their first goal seconds before HT with a quite complacent gesture in this kind of situation. I mean, you don't go playing "brazil" football right at the entrance of our penalty box when you're already struggling to get a hold of the game.
I can also remember our goal. A corner kick. Probably the only scoring opportunity we were ever going to get! The ball comes to the near post. Our captain Cesc is the closest Arsenal player to the ball. In the end, the goal comes from three Barca players battling for the ball while our captain jumps half-arsed two meters behind them.

Again, I'm not questionning Cesc's commitment to our club. I'm just saying he should be held responsible as he did his part in us losing. And the "100% fit" excuse doesn't stand for me. If you're not feeling ready for a big game like this then you tell the coach you can't play.

Spot on, too many excuses made by supporters for Captain Marvel, Psycologicaly he gave them the upper hand in the tunnel by giving off a relaxed attitude, it would have un nerved them if he gave it a focussed eye of the tiger stare, instead he's calming the atmosphere.

He's free to go in my book, the club will have to cope and move on, he's no Henry or Wright and the club rebuilt and moved forward, time to accept it and get on with it.

Ramsey needs to play on Sat not Denilson or Diaby, its time the club started getting him involved before next season as he could end up getting the chance to step up.

Would have have seen a real captain like Tony Adams doing all that shite?

If people are going to criticise the attitude of the player that has given more than anyone else for this club over the past six years because he is greeting his friends before a game, they don’t deserve to be heard. That stuff happens all the time when a player meets their old team, it’s nothing new and has nothing to do with his performance on the pitch.

That you can even question his dedication to the team annoys me more than anything that has been said on this post.

Agreed! But I think there is a name you have left out in order for this rebuilding to proceed

1) C'esc is a model professional truly world class player (THAT WE MADE) and make no mistake he loves the Arsenal as much as any player on that field

2) He is an OK Captain, not bad, but not brilliant. Let's be fair he has lifted us from the ashes many a time (Barca last year scoring a oen with a broken leg, Villa, countless times in the cup's and Champs League) etc etc

3)HOWEVER he is NOT an English style captain which we would all prefer. It's that extra, fuk off that most English players have. Yes a John Terry, Scott Parker, Gary Neville even someone like Darren Fletcher. Ability wise, not a scrath on or C'esc but would NEVER hug players in the tunnel before a game. NO CHANCE!! Game face on like Jack did, do a job, and we can have a drink after but for the next 90 mins, I don't know you, wanna know you and you are the enemy stopping me get to my goal: The Champs League! Would Gerrard and Rooney be hugging before a Champs League clash?? Not on your life, but in the England camp good mates:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUqg49uKIfE

4) Barca has treated us with the upmost disrespect in every manner possible from tapping up players, talking about their style of play and how we always choak, commenting on how C'esc is inprisoned with us and that we "stole" him to on the field when playing, diving, cheating, asking for cards, fowling and winding us up! The fact that that *word censored* Guillem Balague can say their is a humbleness throughout the team as they close players down is laughable! More arrogant then Chavs or ManUre put together! So really we wanted a bit of a performance on Tuesday from him after all this!!

Think what is hurting us is the way in which Cesc had a lovely cuddle before the game and then, didn't perform on the pitch, the back heel (not on purpose obviously but clearly the occasion got to him), lying about being fit to play at the Nou Camp and when they were being pricks and fowling and moaning to the refs, Van Persie, Nas and Jack were all for one sticking up whereas our Capitan was going round as if to say 'they're alright', 'don't have a go at my mates'. Even today he has said:

Fabregas told elconfidencial.com: "It was not fair but we shouldn't blame the referee for the elimination. Barcelona were better and always score in the end."

Bit different to earlier in the season when he blasted a ref on twitter after the Wigan game...it's OK when it's not barca then?? Hmmm

He looked like somebody who was embarrassed to be with us to his Barca mates! We are not a small club, and he should know how massive we are and what shirt he's wearing!! Still love the guy and will call his name till I'm blue in the face home and away, but think he'll leave this summer and tbh will leave a sour taste! Probs AW's fault tnh though. Should have bout Alonso and coutless others for him to play with and we'd have won loads and reckoned he woulda stayed for years as would a certain Mr Titi :banghead: :banghead:
