You could but they would hammer you for another £70 - £80 full fare.
If the train is packed with gooners then you can usually get away with it as the train guards/inspectors/whatever they call them nowadays don't bother walking down the carriages.

It's a risk though as I missed my train from Stoke once and had to get on to the next train with a ticket for the previous train. I crapped myself for the two hours that I'd get caught and charged again or worse.

the rivalry with us and the mancs stems from an FA cup game in '88? when united got a dubious last minute penno infront of the NB. McClair (c**t) blasted it over and we went menthol.

Also the battle of old trafford in '91 when limpar scored the winner but we got a 2 point deduction after a brawl. Nutty Winterburn got stuck into them, the dirty cnuts 8) :barscarf:
Cheers for clearing that up then with the quick history lesson. So to answer my original question is it safe to wear my shirt on sat then?
In my experience, the answer is 'No'.

The only year I haven't seen it getting 'pwapa nawty' outside the ground post match was 2002, as they had all gone home by the time we left!
He he he. Me loved the old Trafford champions section banner. Fuck it im gonna wear the shirt and if I get the standard “fuck off back to Londonâ€

Pre-match drinking in the city centre it's fine to display your colours. On route to OT, definitely not. Many london gooners, including some here probably, won't even talk while on route to the stadium amongst the crowd.

Post-match do not display your colours.

It seems silly when tickets for both trains are the same price. Cheers for the heads up.

Sounds about right. That pretty much mirrors my experience before and after the citeh game.

My only problem, and where the whole plan starts to fall down is when my bezzy mate stella starts kicking off with people. His behaviour is really embarrassing I don’t know why im friends with him as he keeps getting me into trouble over and over again. Why o why do I still hang out with him? I just really hope he doesn’t bust out the “theirs only one harold Shipmanâ€

Surely the £70 are anytime returns, therefore you're permitted to travel on any service?

No.

Just act like you normally do for an away fixture and you'll be fine.

I've never experienced any trouble before. Went to the boozer near the Stretford end and had no trouble. Stop scaremongering.
