This time next week

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Will work it, and take the Friday instead  Will have a drink at night at home on Paddy's day. I don't go out anymore on Paddy's day (or glasgow celtic day) as it should be called in Derry. As that's all you get is arseholes with Celtic tops on singing republican songs and looking to fight with anyone who doesn't approve.
Also families in pubs with little kids bored out of their poor little minds as they sit and watch their parents get pissed.
Don't get me wrong I love a drink, and anyone who knows me will tell you I like a drink more than most, but I prefer to have my piss-ups on a day when there's not a load of arseholes pissed as well.

Wow. Same as me, sid. Word for word... :?

Paddy's day in Dublin has gone to the dogs. Lots of fights and all those celtic mongs singing IRA songs... fucking idiots.

If the weather's good we usually have a barbeque and invite some family over. Pretty low key... 8)

Not like when I was a single man in my 20's. Paddy's day was a session and a half with the lads. But then back in those days you had less chance of getting stabbed by some little tossbag hoody that can't handle his drink. Or "Rebel" as he's also known!!

I have been in New York for a couple of St. Patrick's Days. They seem to have the right idea. A big parade which is a family event, then go to bars. In fact it is hard to get into a bar there that night, but I saw no trouble, and whilst people got drunk there seemed to be an emphasis on meeting girls.
