I heard rumours on saturday that, after all, he may not be the innocent average supporter and is, allegedly, a well known tout.
Campaigns such as the one to get his season ticket back are to be admired and encouraged but if based on a false premise can be extremely damaging to the crediblity of other worthy campaigns.
As we have all been invited to back the campaign it would be interesting to know what is the true situation.

Alan ban
I have heard both positive and negative stuff about Alan Esparza. I wrote a piece online and in the printed version of The Gooner supporting his case on the basis that the club had barred him for re-selling a ticket at face value. If there was more to it, i wanted the club to come out and say so. My reason for backing the campaign was becasue I wanted to fight the principle rather than defend the individual. I have heard unofficially from the club since that there was more to this case than was revealed by Alan's supporters and that there is no precedent hat has been set based upon this case.
However, everything I have heard on both sides is unsubstantiated, so I am not going to reproduce any of it in print. Just posting this to ensure that people are aware that the Gooner backed the campaign due to reasons of principle rather than personality.

Did Alan ever get his season tickets back or is the ban still in place?
