Why was my thread deleted? I highlighted something which I felt needed it's own thread in order to discuss a certain theory other than *word censored* this *word censored* that. it wasn't a thread about today or denilson so I'd like your reason. You allow ridiculous abuse from one another on here and ott stuff to be said about wenger but I asked a genuine question about the board or wenger leading us on and it's deleted. Fine, you're welcome to your forum as it's not worth posting on anymore anyway.

I think we've went over the whole board thing too much.

So much so that although I'm interested I just skip every board related post. I presume there is a board thread somewhere on this page.

Whether we need yet another board thread going over the same ground is debatable.

I think that would be valid except we have thread after thread after thread after thread about what is wrong at Arsenal that seems contnet to lay the blame sdquarely on the manager and players, which would be reasonable neough except that the manger sleecting the players he has may be down to financial policies set by the Board as a result of actions taken by the Board motivated primarily or even solely by the financial interests of the shareholders on the Board.

And if that is so we should be aware of that because it will shape our team more than anything else. Wouldn't you agree?

I was considering the impact of the board quite seriously up until today. But the constant playing of Rosicky, Diaby, and Denilson, coupled with the amount of games we've lost purely to poor tactical/selection decisions, makes me wonder about who the blame really should be on.

Curious veiwpoint.

The problem from what I have seen is that the lack of money available to the manager has dictated who we can consider bringing into the club and for some time obviously, and that is why these players are here and because we have not had a great fitness record playing with any regularity still.

I mean look at the other possibilities.

That the manager has lost his ability to scout evaluate and develop talent altogether just like that. I'm sorry but I don't buy that, and even if I did why hasn't the group paid essentially to monitor his performance come to this same conclusion and acted to coorect things in some way?

I just don't believe this manager thought Denilson was as good as Patrick Vieira or could become as as good as him, or that Nik Bendtner was as good as Denis Bergkamp or could become as good as him, and perhaps most critically thinks that still could happen. Not because he is brilliant or infallible but because ne isn't a total idiot or insane. And even if somehow I were run where is the Board resposible for acting to correst this situation?

The there is the whole "Wenger Youth Project Theory" and the stories that he did the very same thing at Monaco. The history on this is unclear from reading the Club's history as best as I have been able to, but let's just assume that is true.

Does that not mean the Board would have known he would pursue this project at the time he did and that they implicitly supported and encouraged him in doing that since they did not act to press him to behave differently or replace him when he refused, since if this is true they had to be aware of it ahead of time

Anyway, look at the teams from 2002-2005 built almost entirely by this manager. Even by 2002 only six players (and one is Bergkamp reportedly purchased based on Arsene Wenger's encouragement a year before his arrival in the team squad pre-dated the manager's arrival and by 2004 there were only three, and none were first choice players bar Bergkamp.

Should we really believe he just lost his ability to evaluate talent or his desire to win silverware right at the very same time our Board borrowed more than it could afford to without undermining the successful self-sustaining business model the Board had employed to pay for the club's expenses?

Should we really believe that he just happened to become incompetent right then or just suddenly decided to indulge his ego right then?? Should we really believe that the fact the larger shareholders on the Board when these policies were enacted and have made or stand to make mind-blowingly large profits in part from these policies is purely some coincidence or dumb luck for them?

I always avoid any discussion/s about the board like the proverbial plague...Why?...not because it is boring, but because it is a waste of time and energy....why!?

a) The only reason theboard know we exist is because we buy the tickets,merchandise,magazine/s, etc etc....as long as the ole moolah is rolling in they don't give a toss about the likes of you and I who work hard and go without all kinds of things in order to watch 'Our Team'. play....the only way they're ever going to listen to any of our arguments, concerns, suggestions, ideas etc is if a Gooner finally blows their lid and takes the whole bunch of em hostage with afew hand grenades and a uzi 9mm.....then maybe!

I'm all for philosophical debate and good ole polemic...but these rich RICH Feckers don't give a shyte....just like 99% of the players - who are so deluded in thinking because they do the odd interview and do a few autograph's are under the illusion - they 'Care'....the only way they can show they DO Genuinely Care is by giving 101% every time they are on the pitch...and for me only Jack Wilshere does that time and time again...and he's meant to be the sorcerer's apprentice so to speak..

Even fabregas only gives his all every now and then....

It's a Truly Sad SAD situation........

Aaaw feck it... :banghead:

Martin,

Because of the boards financial policies, do you think they gave Wenger an ultimatum.....to give Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner, Eboue etc etc extended and improved contracts? I'm interested to hear how the board would have gone about this.

Can you tell me how you think the board pick the first 11, how they determine tactics (sic) and how they send the word to Wenger to make the usual 70th minute substitution?

Can you tell me when you think the board speak to Wenger to tell him to go on TV and make crass and embarrassing comments about why we lost a game?

Can you tell me how the board have managed to influence the manager of the team into having a plan A and no backup whatsoever should that plan fail?

You always lay the blame at the door of the board and not the manager so I expect to see you answer the above with the relevant proof of how the board have done this?
