It's even more ironic Wenger mentions the teams mental strength every single press conference and interview.
Whos he fooling? I believe he does it so he believes it himself.
When has Ferguson or Mourinho mentioned their players mental strength? Its a given ffs.
This is the most mentally weak team I've seen at any level of football. Which makes Wenger look even more embarrassing.

Yes they are and that includes me. And if we want things to change for the better soi we don't feel so lousy a good way to start would be to address the real problem, not pretending a new manager will automatically be given the resources need to fix things properly when there is no evidence of that.Chippy wrote:You just proved my point. Gooners are in mourning for another season where we were so close. Nobody apart from you wants to have a debate about the fucking board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!USMartin wrote:Actually I think I do and no one else wnats to know the truth or try to do anything about it. I could be wrong but then again maybe John Gotti wasn't bribing those juries. We have to stop acting like we have a teflon Board and start asking or even pushing them to be more candid or else we deserve whatever we get after they cash in.Chippy wrote:Martin you really have no idea have you?USMartin wrote:We need change but will it come just with a new manager?
Or will sacking the manager buy the Board more time to keep the spending down, and what changes for the better if that continues?
It's so sad people would rather believe a Board they know has lied to them than actually look at real evidence that proves that the problems probably will not be solved by a simple change of management. Its like like accepting yet another promise that this time she won't cheat on you ever again just because you more afraid of losing your girl than your pride.
If I was at all confident based on the Board's actions and policies that they were doing their best to ensure we had the best possible talent at Arsenal that we can realisically afford I would back a change of management withouth hesistation.
The problem is they have not done that and all the known evidence suggests that. The only evidence to the contrary is the Board saying "Money is available to spend" though they make no effort whatsoever to see that it is and say directly to us they don't care if we win nothing. and they don't care how much that breaks our hearts. The Board through Peter Hill-Wood has said they don't care several times over the past several seasons, including during a period when there is up to 100 million pounds available to use if need be, and I think we would all agree that is not needed, especially as Cesc is odds-on to go and even at knockdown price will still fetch I'd guess 20-25 million - I hope.
We all want the rot to stop. That makes it absolutely critical that we look at where the rot really is doesn't it?
Your fault is you berlieve that change now will actually guarantee change now.
Given our standards of success and failure our goal is to hire a manager capable of winning the League or clearly being being one of the top two things with ine season.
And for that to happen or have a chance of happening they must have the finanacial support they need to make the needed changes both to sign the players we need to add to this squad and to keep the players we cannot afford to lose.
There is no manager who can lead us one inch forward from where we are without that support and well know that. Are the managers who could do more with more support? Absolutely. But with the very same support especially the same wage strcuture. I would bet my own life there are not. How about you?
Seriously the point is there is no manager who could rebuild this team on the fly on our current spending, and what is the point of sacking a manger who has gone trophyless for six years if his replacement goes trophyless six more?
Like I said the rot must be stopped but if cut away the wrong peice of the fondation the rot will not only continue but will worsen. We don't want to turn a six-year drought into a sixteen-year drought and that is what we risk now no matter who the Board or the manager if we stick with these failed financial policies.
We always say you don't buy expensive players for the sake of buying them and the same holds true here, you don't just sack the manager because it might make things better ot it might make you feel better.Chippy wrote:The most frustrating thing is that most of us saw this coming. The most ironic thing is that this is the AW team with least mental strengz. Change now!

I don't think its a losers mentality more a victim mentality, half the time they probably don't even think they play badly or let us down, instead they probably genuinely feel they have been hard done by.skipper wrote:Well, I don't think it would take 10 years to re-organize, but with a decent manager it should take maybe 2 seasons before we challenge properly for trophies. But it's price worth paying.jonny3110 wrote:What's really upsetting, is that he's had such free reign of the club, he's now at the point that when he does leave, not only will we need to rebuild but I can guarantee you, we'll go proper backwards for the next 10 years, until someone decent comes in!!
Wenger has obviously installed losers mentality in this set of players and chances are very thinh that it will change in next few weeks.
