As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I think Quartz is right...if this is really going to get the attention then it needs to be co-ordinated and its mission needs to be clear. There needs to be at least one, and preferably a wider group of spokespeople for the Group, that if ever given the chance by the club can clearly state their concerns and back them up with facts and evidence.
There would be nothing worse than it descending into a group that has no clear thinking; the club needs to know the list of things we are unhappy with.
The banners also need to be well thought out.
The Green and Gold movement was a crock of shit; xenophobic and nasty, taking banners around like "Die Glazer Die".....nice. We are better than that...

There is no free float of shares in Arsenal, so as long as we keep qualifying for the CL, the four sets of major shareholders' value is protected and they could not give a shite what we say. All the while there's a full Club level, 10 year waiting list for season tickets and every home game sold out.....it sadly matters little what we say. There's no loss of value to them through a share price drop if they receive negative press and that's the truth of it.
Having spent thousands of pounds every year watching the club I have sadly resigned myself to the fact that all the while the 'lock down' agreement is in place, so the GIC will be in place, the lack of trophies will remain and us supporters are simply pawns in the game.

No steve if nothing else it matters what we say to us - at least then we can can look ourselves in the eye if things worsen from here.
Martin...I have no problem protesting pal, and I'm happy to join in. I agree with your sentiment. I have made enough barbed comments at home matches but as has been mentioned here elsewhere it seems that at least 50% of current Gooners are still in the "I love AW, I believe everything that Gazidis says, we have a better model than Man United/Chelsea" fantasy land. This is definitely true as dissenting voices like yours and mine are stamped out by this other 50% + who are happy with the way things are. Sadly for us there are thousands more equally deluded happy to snap up our season tickets and silver memberships so no matter what we say outside the ground, at the training ground etc.....there will still be 60000 tourists feeding the shareholders £3m per home game and until that changes our voices will be shouting into a void (the size of which is only equalled in the part of Wenger's brain labelled 'how to defend and take set plays')
Wasn't questioning your desire to join us because I am aware you have some strong views along these lines, just saying that it has meaning no matter what for us at least. At least we can say we shouted into that void if nothing else.
But I also think that is th= ereason we have to be willing to push all lines of thought her because you right - just going by the supporter base as ST base it will be a long hard slog intially certainly and poerhaps period.
This is why our real goal has to be as much to create media curiosity about the details of the club's plans and policies and even fnancial data in order to get someone asking the Board questions they have felt nb desire or obligation to answer to this point.
I think Frank's idea about the Shareholder's meeting is brilliant because that is where some real protest could draw some real attention as if the Board refuse to answer those questions some smart reporter will call them on why they refused to at that point, and if they refuse to answer them then go and seek those answers for themselves maybe.

He might be interested.
I'm not on twitter. Anyone else on it? Let's wait until there is something organised. Otherwise it's all pie in the sky. I'm quite happy to write the 'mission statement' for the Protest Group.
Theres already the Black Scarf Protest Group on Twitter and Facebook, it has some numbers behind it. Think some members of the herd forum started that.
I think going seperate to black scarf would be the best idea as there seems to be a big split between supporters there. Plus its all a bit manchester bandwagon isn't it with the scarves?
Not really, it hasnt caught on. And you need some sort of symbol.
I think the problem with the herd protest is there wasnt enough of them at home games.
I do know though that the scarves started selling well then the club copied them for the official shop..... :awnker:
Love the banner guys, it does what it says in the tin. If you can get it in past the Stasi then good luck. Sadly I fear it will take a defeat at home for dissent to really build but tiny acorns....

The shareholders meeting is undoubtedly the right opportunity; sadly giving voices to tossers who come out with questions that border on abuse (such as someone referring to Silvestre as a 'geriatric') are the least helpful solution; it comes across as juvenile and destroys the hard work of others. A controlled, defined approach is needed
I'm actually surprised this is being accepted by people on here, I've seen others proposed on this forum before that were quickly quelled.
In regard to "Arsenal FC, not PLC" and "Victory Through Harmony" I think they're good, but what would sound so much better for me would be something like "Arsenal Resistance" or something involving resistance. Just sounds so much more military and hardcore like. Just sayin'
