Many on here will be well aware that I have been advocating some form of public protest for a long long time but some of this seems too nicey nicey for me - will you please spend some of our money ? Pretty please ? These c**ts have shown so much contempt for the fans and do we really think that asking them nicely is going to get them to change their ways ? If I missed another part of the plan of action then please clarify it for me cos I am in favour of this movement and am willing to travel over just to be a part of a protest so you can add me to that list of fans that are on board with this movement.

Can I also add that if there is a committee being organised to front this group then I would like to nominate steve o, donaldo and quartz to be on the committee
Good point.

Facebook groups, Twitter groups etc are great but I sadly think they can be ignored.

The committee would be patronised by the hierarchy and window dressing would be done and if there's a little improvement, the 'floating voters' will be lost and we would be back to square one.

We have to make a nuisance of ourselves, in a legal way. I think we still need to protest very vocally.

The committee has to be ready to be our spokesperson once we've let it be known enough's enough and the board are ready to 'entertain us'.
I personally want the group to have many faces. Through twitter/facebook, newspaper journalists, letters etc. to the club possibly and of course banners, protests at the ground would be the key but it would need the foundation of the other aspects imo.

Have you had a look at the BSM's website? They are perhaps more what you're looking for. Our movement is 100% not a wenger out or board out movement.

I think we should have a poll on the latter bit.

I am looking for change just like everybody else that has commented on this thread so not sure how my aims differ from yours :? What I am advocating though is that nothing will change unless we really make our feelings known in as strong a manner as possible and I believe that being the lifeblood of the club, many contributing 1k + per season, we have earned that right dont you ?
This is not a Wenger out group, that is where our views fundamentally differ.

Thats fine and even though I still 100% believe he has to go I am still willing to support this group and its aims to protest against the club as opposed to any individuals. However I still want it to be a real protest and not just a group on a social network so can we be more pro-active please ?

This thing tbh has hit the nail on the head, will be happy to help whether it be protesting, contributing to a whip-round or organisational

not into facebook and twatter but if it forms the base of the protest i.e building momentum and making it easier to notify and assemble people for any protest than fine

(thanks 1991 btw  )

What we're trying to do I think is to get ideas on how to proceed. I think setting up a facebook group/twitter is a good way to go, but it does need to have the guise of a protest group and not just a social group for people to join, and I reckon banners at games (probably aways) are probably the best way to go with protests as walk-outs and sit-ins are hard to organise to get the club and media to listen. (Marches pre-game could work, could ask REDAction for help ). Augie tbh if it is 'Wenger/Board out' to start with it will get dismissed and ridiculed by a significant section of the support quite early on. I think SteveO's previous post on the group's objectives is quite near spot on imo.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Everything doesn't have to be done in one night. Lets take our time with our aims and what we want to achieve with this.

I agree with augie in that

Unless Wenger or the current board go, nothing else will change.
So in my opinion the aims of the group, will be too easily ignored/dismissed.

I just feel the aims arent strong enough.

This is the problem:

Some people dont want the board out
Some people do want the board out

Some people dont want Wenger out
Some people do want the Wenger out

Some people want fair priced tickets
Some arent concered

Thus the aims dilute slightly. Its why this issue is so complex.

SteveO 35 wrote:My twopenneth for what it is worth

Dear Arsenal fans,

Arsene Wenger has brought us great success as manager. He has not only won trophies, but revolutionised the culture of football, and produced teams who played some of the most attractive football the world has seen; something for which we as true supporters of Arsenal FC remain proud of

We moved stadium in 2006, and we fans understand that the move resulted in sensible structured debt. However, in taking the decision to move the club to its new home after 93 years at Highbury, we believe that the achievements of Arsenal since then have fallen short of the ambitions of the supporters and we would hope the shareholders of he club. We understand that the stadium move was a necessary step in the progression of the modern Arsenal FC; indeed the club itself made this statement ahead of the move stating that the move would allow Arsenal FC "to compete with Europe's elite clubs". As lifelong supporters of the club, and ones that wish to leave a legacy for our grandchildren and their grandchildren, it is not in our interests to see Arsenal FC embark upon a strategy employed by certain other Premier League football clubs that would risk the future financial stability of our great club.

However, we believe that the current level of attainment and ambition being achieved and demonstrated by Arsenal FC and its management is below the standard we would expect from a club with a stated desire in 2005 to compete with Europe's elite clubs.

So we have formed this group with the following aims:

1.) To encourage the club to develop a clear investment strategy, made visible to its global fanbase, that will allow Arsenal to compete for the major club competition trophies domestically and in Europe.

2.) To seek clarity over the club's sustainable business model and with particular regard to the policy of rewarding young players with long term contracts that have inflated the club's annualised wage bill to £8m per annum higher than in the previous financial year

3.) To understand the club's longer term vision and strategy. As supporters we have clear goals and ambitions, measurable by the winning of trophies. As an organisation whose principle activity is the management of a football club we believe that this should also be the clear and measured objective of the club. We believe that the club's property interests and current shareholder structure are not in keeping with this strategy and vision
I like it a lot but would just add that our ticket prices are the highest in the world, important thing to mention when talking about lack of investment.

imo talkof notifying journo's is way way too soon.

if we're not clear and precise about what we want and who we are than it wont get taken seriously. then if we go back when we are , those journo's will just laugh it off as amateurish

take a couple of deays to build and agree on all aims and get a proper name with a logo and some form of literature out THEN go public

sorry but a sit-in would generate A LOT of publicity. I'm sure if we organised it properly we would get a good vocal crowd in. I saw the victims do it a couple of years ago and they only had about 100 of them yet they got high publicity .

WE CAN GET MORE THAN 100 and with good banners and a twitter account the press would definitely cover it. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Exactly

This is a long term thing

No point in twittering to journalists etc, when we fully havent established core aims or alot of other stuff.

THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME

Maybe if there was a protest date or something then journalists could be informed.
