I think that is the plan to protest vocally and increasingly so. I think a Facebook group just gives us a place in which to gather to focus on working on this and in time go lead to a stand-alone site in the manner of AISA, RA, or BSMtopgoon wrote:Good point.augie wrote:I am so confused here........this started off suggesting a real protest either inside or outside the ground and at the car park entrance but now it seems to be about starting a twitter or facegroup informing people of our idea's which is all well and good but is that it ?I agree 100% that this protest group needs to be focused on 2 or 3 specific aims but by the same token I look at quartz's suggested piece and for me it just isnt strong enough

Many on here will be well aware that I have been advocating some form of public protest for a long long time but some of this seems too nicey nicey for me - will you please spend some of our money ? Pretty please ? These c**ts have shown so much contempt for the fans and do we really think that asking them nicely is going to get them to change their ways ? I understand why many feel that getting rid of wenger as one of our aims will turn fans away from supporting our group but realistically if wenger and/or the board remains nothing will change
If I missed another part of the plan of action then please clarify it for me cos I am in favour of this movement and am willing to travel over just to be a part of a protest so you can add me to that list of fans that are on board with this movement.
Can I also add that if there is a committee being organised to front this group then I would like to nominate steve o, donaldo and quartz to be on the committee
Facebook groups, Twitter groups etc are great but I sadly think they can be ignored.
The committee would be patronised by the hierarchy and window dressing would be done and if there's a little improvement, the 'floating voters' will be lost and we would be back to square one.
We have to make a nuisance of ourselves, in a legal way. I think we still need to protest very vocally.
The committee has to be ready to be our spokesperson once we've let it be known enough's enough and the board are ready to 'entertain us'.
The way to get their attention
Yep, I think we need to take our time and get the house in order first.merse_10 wrote:imo talkof notifying journo's is way way too soon.
if we're not clear and precise about what we want and who we are than it wont get taken seriously. then if we go back when we are , those journo's will just laugh it off as amateurish
take a couple of deays to build and agree on all aims and get a proper name with a logo and some form of literature out THEN go public
Walk before run and all that crap.

Bloody hell lads!
I go to the gym for a couple of hours and come back to a shit-storm.
We need to not get ahead of ourselves. We have one crack at this, and need to get it right. This thread was set up so that we could brain-storm everything then go public. So let's just chill out a bit.
If we take 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months to get everything sorted, fine.
For me, a large part of any protest needs to be about respect for the fans. We seem to be at the bottom of the food chain, and this needs to stop. The players repeatedly disrspect the away support by failing to acknowledge them (bar Eboue and Jack). This also covers the lies that we are told repeatedly about transfer targets, whilst season ticket prices rocket. The Club need to be honest with us. We were told that a move to the Emirates was to allow us to compete. It seems to have had the opposite effect. We need to be seen as fans, not customers.
We are the lifeblood of the Club.
I'll have a go at a mission statement tomorrow.
BTW - I think ArsenalFC not PLC, will get us into shit over Copyright.

As I said, this thing needs many faces. Twitter, facebook will be used to drum up interest. I agree that protests and banners are the main part.augie wrote:Arsenal 1991 wrote:This is not a Wenger out group, that is where our views fundamentally differ.augie wrote:Arsenal 1991 wrote:Have you had a look at the BSM's website? I think we should have a poll on the latter bit.
I am looking for change just like everybody else that has commented on this thread so not sure how my aims differ from yoursWhat I am advocating though is that nothing will change unless we really make our feelings known in as strong a manner as possible and I believe that being the lifeblood of the club, many contributing 1k + per season, we have earned that right dont you ?
Thats fine and even though I still 100% believe he has to go I am still willing to support this group and its aims to protest against the club as opposed to any individuals. However I still want it to be a real protest and not just a group on a social network so can we be more pro-active please ?

sorry but a sit-in would generate A LOT of publicity. I'm sure if we organised it properly we would get a good vocal crowd in. I saw the victims do it a couple of years ago and they only had about 100 of them yet they got high publicity . WE CAN GET MORE THAN 100 and with good banners and a twitter account the press would definitely cover it

I think once all is sorted (name, aims etc) Facebook and Twitter will allow us to drum up enough interest to get a big enough support for a protest outside the ground. It has to be continous not just a one time thing which gets swept under the carpet. We need answers and won't settle until we've had them.
Very good. BTW check your PMsSteveO 35 wrote:My twopenneth for what it is worth
Dear Arsenal fans,
Arsene Wenger has brought us great success as manager. He has not only won trophies, but revolutionised the culture of football, and produced teams who played some of the most attractive football the world has seen; something for which we as true supporters of Arsenal FC remain proud of
We moved stadium in 2006, and we fans understand that the move resulted in sensible structured debt. However, in taking the decision to move the club to its new home after 93 years at Highbury, we believe that the achievements of Arsenal since then have fallen short of the ambitions of the supporters and we would hope the shareholders of he club. We understand that the stadium move was a necessary step in the progression of the modern Arsenal FC; indeed the club itself made this statement ahead of the move stating that the move would allow Arsenal FC "to compete with Europe's elite clubs". As lifelong supporters of the club, and ones that wish to leave a legacy for our grandchildren and their grandchildren, it is not in our interests to see Arsenal FC embark upon a strategy employed by certain other Premier League football clubs that would risk the future financial stability of our great club.
However, we believe that the current level of attainment and ambition being achieved and demonstrated by Arsenal FC and its management is below the standard we would expect from a club with a stated desire in 2005 to compete with Europe's elite clubs.
So we have formed this group with the following aims:
1.) To encourage the club to develop a clear investment strategy, made visible to its global fanbase, that will allow Arsenal to compete for the major club competition trophies domestically and in Europe.
2.) To seek clarity over the club's sustainable business model and with particular regard to the policy of rewarding young players with long term contracts that have inflated the club's annualised wage bill to £8m per annum higher than in the previous financial year
3.) To understand the club's longer term vision and strategy. As supporters we have clear goals and ambitions, measurable by the winning of trophies. As an organisation whose principle activity is the management of a football club we believe that this should also be the clear and measured objective of the club. We believe that the club's property interests and current shareholder structure are not in keeping with this strategy and vision

I'm all for this too.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:sorry but a sit-in would generate A LOT of publicity. I'm sure if we organised it properly we would get a good vocal crowd in. If you have some twitter contact then that is useful but it probably should not happen for another while yet and not on a whim you know?

Then we use the original none copyrighted logo and just write under it, The Arsenal, a football club not a plc. It becomes the logo for the group.frankbutcher wrote:Bloody hell lads!![]()
