Fair enough Quartz it makes more sense the way you wrote it and im all for that but i think there is more chance of the board sacking Wenger (which i agree is vitually zero) than wenger ever admitting he is wrong and stating to spend again and dropping the project. Just my thoughts i want a total clearout at the club managerment wise as things have gone stale with the current players and IMO this is as much of a problem as not signing new ones

Wenger lives in a bubble.
The guy threatened to quit over a few harsh words at the AGM. In fact they werent harsh at all.
I dont envisage the board sacking him , but I do know that if at any stage the majority of fans want him out or there is a loud enough voice calling for him to step down, he probably would.

I deally yes but not absolutely.frankbutcher wrote: (Trophies need to be won).
I think if we were able to say confidently that our club was making the best possible effort it could (as we would no doubt agree is not the case as this time and has not been for some time)to put a team that could genuinely compete for and win trophies on the pitch on the club's behalf that would be enough.
It's not simply that there is no divine right to anything really. It's that some of the very best team or individuals in sports history have fallen short at the last hurdle no matter how great they are.
Yes we want to win more trophies but we want to feel like that is what the club wants as much as we do as well. If I feel the Board wants what I want and genuinely tries for it but we fall short who am I to complain?
So we want to feel like our Board of Supporters want what the rest of us supporters is all. Right now I just don't feel that way one bit at all.

Only Quartzy could put it as well as thisQuartzGooner wrote:
Right now the likelehood of the board sacking Wenger is low.
So we can only try to influence the man currently in charge, who actually buys players.
Most fans understand some of the belt tightening that happened after we moved stadium, but we have to shake him out of a destructive perseverance with sub-standard players, and his dogged determination to "grow his own" at the expense of results.
Influence him to be a bit more pragmatic, spend a little to get big rewards, and shuffle the pack.
Let him know we are not calling for his head, do not hate him, but want changes, and would not see a bit of pragmatism as a failure, but to see it as commonsense.
Asking for new signings and better defence is very populist, and it can also capture the media's attention precisely because these should be standard activities.
But for a few seasons they have not been, and this has upset the fans and baffled the press.

Regarding the movement nbb, I don't disagree fundamentaly, and agree that you need a message that unites. Here's where I have a problem...
It seems like the essential message that Wenger is not doing his job, is being watered down to such an extent as to get approval of enough people to take this forward.. I agree that moderate investment on proven players of the right kind (in line with profits and player sales) would have made a difference, but essentialy this is something that very few people would disagree on.
I just think that this is at the very heart of Wenger's philosophy and so, if you changed this, you are essentialy changing the entire philosophy (from Wenger's point of view) - so, it is up to Wenger to either change his entire philosophy on our football, the players he wants, etc...or he goes.
(Listening to The Dubliners while writing this...how fucking strange..)

I think the collective response has been that the 3 aims highlighted earlier are the way we are going.
We are not calling for Wenger to go because like many have said it will put so many people off. The only way to make this work is to have the numbers behind us.
The banner and logos look good, the twitter and facebook pages are in place.
I think the next best thing to do is for all that are serious, meet up before a game and see whats the next step. Obviously for those who can't make it, we can put forward your opinions etc.

Personally Id say Ramsey is a great potential, but is back up in the current crop at th moment, so next season will be the same especially if we bring in new players, but has shown great potential so one for the future. If we did add to the squad Id like to see him go out on loan to another prem squad to get more experiance, if not he;s a good squad player. Lansbury Isnt up to top 4 quality I've seen him play a lot over the last few years, and although a very good and premier league quality he isnt a top 4 player, Id give him a chance somwhere else. Frimpong I really havent seen enough of to comment.highburyJD wrote:are all the members of this group in agreement ramsay, lansbury + frimpong aren't good enough?
I don't think its a question of not good enough as much as not good enough now and while we should develop our own talent where and when possible the first team should not be where that happens. that is more like what you see at West Ham United reallyhighburyJD wrote:are all the members of this group in agreement ramsay, lansbury + frimpong aren't good enough?

We are 2nd in the Table, and this weekend is massive, 1 win at a time and we CAN still win the League !
Save the protests untill the end of the season if and when we fail cos for me If we win it all is forgiven, only if we dont get champions league I would get anti anything !

We are preparing the ground in case we don't win the League. Facebook and Twitter pages have been registered before some-one else sabotages by nicking the names.
The general premise of the Group is set. This thread is thrashing out the exact platform. If you're angling for us to support the BSM, I've already suggested that two groups merged together will serve our interests better.
I agree with Flash anyone who believes Wenger will all of a sudden say yeah i have been wrong and rip up his Project Wenger blueprint is living in dreamland.Nothing is going to change unless Wenger does go.Unless there is a change from the manager down things will stay exactly the same.Wenger is a dictator and dictators dont listen to anyone.Wenger will never change and the board dont want him to.kingjayson1 wrote:I think the collective response has been that the 3 aims highlighted earlier are the way we are going.

It seems that all this is fit for is a nifty Facebook group, it will have about as much impact as a load of Plums from Surrey waving Green and Gold scarves while eating a Pie bought inside the ground wearing a brand new United top bought from the club shop, I guess this protest is about as well thought out as that one and look how well that worked.....
