Not football related, but please remember

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Laying in bed with a tear slowly rolling down my cheak after reading your post. It is too easy in life to plough on day in day out and become immune from the sights you see on the news. I wish your post could be posted on every forum to make people just stop and think even just for one second.

I'm sure that whatever you are doing now that little girl would be so proud to have known you and the promise you made to her must of filled her with so much hope and love. My heart goes out to you for your loss.

You are a top bloke mate, and I am sure Sophie appreciated everything that you did for her.Who knows, she might be looking after you now.Remember, don't blame yourself. There is only one person to blame, and I refuse to even dignify him by naming him! All the best mate.

Thank you safc, it was a horrific happening. I will never forget that week as my daughter Sarah was born two days after Dunblane.. She is 15 next Tuesday, twice as old as the victims that day..It is good for us to discuss and remember these sad events.

Very sad but also strangely uplifting post safcftm. It does give real perspective but it also shows how great people can be and how people can do their best for others. Restores my faith in mankind a bit.

That day was such a tragic tragic event. Such loss of innocent young lives.

No one should ever feel the need to apologise for posting these kind of threads on here.

I like to think little Sophie is up in heaven looking down on you, mate, keeping you safe. 8)

You seem like a really decent bloke Mr Mackem! So many times on here you've provided just the right combination of humour and sensibleness (if there is such a word!)

I feel for you mate - I hope Sunday isn't too bad for you and your family.

Just wanted to come on and say many, many thanks for all the kind messages. Not the kind of thing I would normally post about but this year it got to me a bit more than normal and after a few pints I guess I just needed to write my thoughts down. I initially joined up on here just to find out about pubs and the likes in the area, but ended up enjoying the craic and stuck around, and this just confirms what a set of absolutely top lads get on here. From time to time there is bickering and name calling, but its still an absolutely class forum. Theres been lads replying to the thread, and others sending PMs and it just means so much to me. I showed the thread to members of Sophie's family, and it meant a lot to them as well to know that people the length of the country (and beyond!) were thinking of her and sending their best wishes, it genuinely helped at a difficult time for them

Thanks a lot lads, good to know that whilst there are some absolutely vile human beings they are vastly outnumbered by the good people! Really hope you go on to win the title, cheers :barscarf:
