Not football related, but please remember

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

 sorry mate- given meself a self imposed week away from the internet (and most other things, spent a reflective time in Loch Lomond, which i can fully recommend despite the shit weather!) and a bit pissed and emotional upon me return (i really shouldnt post when drunk like!)

Anyway, back to wholly inappropriate sexual innuendo and praising of our defence for managing to comfortably deserve an away draw at the emirates from now on

KingJayson told me he'd like to piss in Nedum Onouha's mouth.

Beer. Flares. I hate modern football.

Happy now?

Truly impressive resisting the creative onslaught of denilson and diaby  8)

Only just seen this thread and as someone who has suffered considerable personal tragedy I can offer you my full sympathy and understanding.

When I go to the coffee machine at work on monday mornings to fill up my Arsenal mug I usually receive a fair bit of abuse and sometimes I start to question why I put myself through the wringer that is being a Gooner week in week out when I know that we will choke on the big occasion and fans of other clubs know it full well too. It gets me down sometimes and it ruins weekends, weeks and months! This thread has really touched me though and yes its a cliche but it has genuinely put things in perspective. The Arsenal make me fucking livid a lot of the time but at the end of the day Ive never felt anything near what the families and friends of those poor kids went through and are still going through. Massive respect for putting it into words on here. :barscarf:

safcftm wrote:Sorry for this (and feel free to basement when necessary!) but I know people are a bit down about the football at the minute and I just thought I'd give a bit of perspective. This week I've had a great time at Arsenal v Sunderland at the Emirates in the away end, and then thoroughly enjoyed the company of the Gooners in Barcelona when Arsenal were robbed after a brilliant tactical display (in my opinion). Met a lot of good lads, had a lot of laughs, but all week I've been holding back tears even when the final whistle went and we had drawn at the Emirates

The reason for this is that I come from Stirling in Central Scotland and this Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the murder of a girl I considered as close as a sister. Little Sophie North was murdered along with 16 others in the Dunblane massacre. She had lost her mother to cancer two years previously and was such a strong girl in coming to terms with it- her dad worked with mine and I spent time with her over this period (I was 6 years older and tried to help her whilst her Dad was consoled by mine) and I always promised her she'd be fine and that I'd make sure she had a great life, and have never forgiven myself for failing to fulfill the promises. Since then I've always wondered why it was her that was taken and not me (who went to nearby St Ninians Primary, who Hamilton was also apparently considering as a target) and I just thought I'd remind people that there's some shite talked around football where people wish footballers ill and call people scum and the likes, and that in the grand scheme of things it matters not one fucking bit

Anyway, sorry, I'm always emotional at this time of year, but if Arsenal lose in the FA Cup dont feel sorry for yourself, just go and see your friends and family and remember that all of us are lucky to have what we have and spare a thought for those who are no longer here to feel upset over such trivial matters http://www.thisisannouncements.co.uk/5848993

Like I say, sorry, I've been on the drink, basement and lock whenever you wish!
Safcftm, I will always remember this day to as I'm from Stenhousemuir (although now living in Kent) so was only a few miles away when this happened. The whole area was devastated at the time although I can imagine that it was a tiny reflection of the pain that you went through on that day. When the memories re-occur try to remember that there was absolutely nothing you could have done to prevent this tradegy but you did help Sophie and make her final years since the death of her mother that little bit easier by being there for her. For that my friend, you are a good man.

I used to work there for a couple of years, in the Nike store. If you think that place is great G, us seriously need to get out more man!! :)

Although, location wise, it's quite scenic sitting at the foot of the Ochill's.
