ANY ONE HEAR FIREWORKS TODAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Did'nt see it myself but got a call from a mate after and he mentioned the fireworks from outside the ground too.

Pathetic in my view - that sort of salute (which is essentially what it was) should be for fallen soldiers and no-one else!

Like i said imho putting a footballer on the same level as a Soldier is pathetic when it comes to that sort of 'tribute'

I disagree with GoonerJim's comments.

Anyway, I don't think it was any kind of salute. I think it was some people setting fireworks off to disturb the silence.

It's a real shame, but let's face it - something like this was always going to happen.

That brings up a joke:

Man City fans were quiet for 1 minute

Man Utd fans were quiet for 90 minutes
