As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

League form: still unbeaten since christmas when who else, mancs beat us.
Keep the faith, our league form is better then cups.

Lads for the last time Demun is Louder who was recently banned.
Not to hard to notice.
What did Louder do to get banned. It must have been a humdinger to get banned from here Or was it just his ongoing wuming
He was persistently wuming which although isn't bannable really, he was getting worse and worse insulting new members for no reason and bringing the forum standards way down.
Some might say I do the same, but I wouldnt agree with them....
We've been Almunia'd again... shit, I thought those dark, dark days where he fucks us over were behind us
Oh, well - terrible first half performance (urgency??), awful defensive display (again), but a very decent fight back and I suppose that might be a vital point gained, considering we were dead and buried at 2-0.
ManUre's winner is huge though, and the way our season has collapsed around us is sadly all too familiar.
It's not over despite what many on here will write, but obviously our current form (on all fronts) has been about as convincing as a soggy biscuit - 9 games to show some backbone and back up the thousands of soundbites Wenger and the players have given us. Enough words about focus, desire, mental strength, losing in special circumstances, etc. and MORE SOLID PROOF. Let the results do the talking for a change!
Not over I agree but the problem is we simply have to beat manu now and the funny thing is they are shit and should be fairly easy pickings but for this team no one is easy pickings at all - at least not in the Premiership - so I really can't see us turning them over and even if we did we will avoid dropping any other points? Hard seeing that not happen with this bunch, and that almost makes beating ManU pointless anyway.

I am not surprised too. Long given up on Wenger and the team of winning anything

It's over mate - what's going to change?
We all know what follows one defeat - Birmingham - is a ripple effect. One defeat and poor result after another.
It's not 9 more games to show it, it was 4 games ago, a season, 5 years ago.
How many more chances to give them before one accepts it?

Just a really tough deal here.
We've seen it before. We have a massive disappointment (Carling Cup), and we end up losing confidence & focus, and the next thing you know our season starts slipping away in no time.
The quality is there to beat these teams (Birmingham in the cup final, Sunderland & West Brom in the league, and even a weakened ManUre team in the FA Cup) but once the first disappointment hits, the next inevitably follow. I sign of mental weakness, if you ask me.
Yes, yes Martin - money and the board are the underlying reason why we can't compete, but we should have done better in recent weeks with the players we have available, and that's a huge frustration.
1715: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "It was a game where we need to show lots of character and resilience in a football match which was played on a rugby pitch. It was more about character than football today. It was attack against defence for 90 minutes and in the last 10 minutes it was us who were close to winning the game. We made a massive mistake on the second goal and you cannot afford to do that. But we have shown we are ready to fight."
Honestly, just for once, don't make a ***** excuse. Yes the pitch may have been bad but so fucking what, it's the same for every other fucking team that have played there this season. It's this constant moaning and excuse making that means the players don't face up to the reality of their situations. You can imagine him in the dressing room saying: 'Don't worry lads, it's all someone else's fault, you just keep doing what I tell you.'

Until it's mathematically over, I guess. I'm not blind to the situation, and more worrying than the maths is the performances, but what else can we do but hope?? - that's all I've got left, marc!
I'm an optimist, so will go into the next game hoping for an Arsenal win and Manure defeat... but, I'm realistic too, and obviously ManUre are huge favourites (which they always were, of course)

I think you're right we should be doing better anyway but when you under-invest and don't have quite the same quality beneath your forst eleven and you also have a lot of overpaid and thus undermotivated guys from that squad this si what you get when you have to realy on them.

Agreed - but the finance thing is so obvious, that I'd rather move past that now as most people are in agreement there.
The motivation thing, I'm not sure about though - I think they all want to be successful, and I'm sure the reserves want to be in the first team, but players like Denilson, Arshavin, Bendtner, Diaby, etc. are just that type of player... it's there natural 'lazy' style, like Kanu and Berbatov, I guess. Whereas, players like Eboue and post-injury Rosicky, just lack quality*
*actually, Bendtner and especially Denilson have a horrible combination of lacking quality AND possessing a 'lazy' style - a combination that surely should have seen them shipped out before now?

Heres the problem in my eyes. There isn't enough good old fashioned demand on these guys to play for their arsenal careers. Finance is irrelevent because even replacing them with like-for-like quality and wages could do wonders in keeping the squad fresh and on its toes rather then complacent and lacking any edge.
