To boo or not To boo?
To boo or not To boo?
I know people have different views on booing but the main difference I can see is that the non boo camp (rightly in my opinion) argue that whilst someone is playing for us there is no point booing them because that's only gonna get them down and ultimately make them play worse (if that is possible). Clearly that is counter productive but so is not saying anything, paying our money to the board and ulitmately the wages of dross and not winning anything.
My question therefore, is would there be a general consensus for large scale booing of certain players at the Villa or Fulham game if (and only if) we've managed to throw away sufficient points so as to make it mathmatically impossible to win the league.
I'm talking mainly when their names are called out at the start but possibly throughout to really get the message across (although that seems a little excessive to me).
A large scale effort would certainly get the message over as to who we want out in the summer, what's everyone's thoughts?

IMO if supporters pay their money they have the right to express an opinion. Instinctively I don't like hearing our players being booed, BUT (a bit like the situation with Rooney at the world cup) what are fans supposed to do if they're being served up dross, by players who are crap and often don't seem to be trying or even particulary bothered.
To register an opinion with the manager, boo at the start. I wouldn't worry about affecting their performance (could Denilson get any worse?) and if the players really do have this fabled Mental Strength then they'll work their bollocks off to prove a point (don't hold your breath). Bendtner may even realise that we don't share his opinion that he's world class.
It may even encourage them to sod off somewhere else, despite their huge wages.
However, during a game we should applaud any good play by any player and heckle those players who are playing poorly / not trying.

I generally don't condone booing but it pisses me off when we've played completely shit, then a couple of players come over to clap us at the end, maybe throw a shirt in the crowd & suddenly all is forgiven. Why aren't we letting them know that wasn't good enough?! It seems the shit performance doesnt matter to some idiots so long as there's a chance to get a free shirt out of it
Braga away springs to mind. I was absolutely fucking fuming after that game. Only Jack & Theo came over yet all the sheep are clapping & applauding, I coulda vaulted the barrier to give em a bollocking I was so angry

I generally don't boo, I can't remember specifically booing althpugh I may have. But I am in favour of it.
This is about the only things these pampered, precious darlings seem to understand. They are cocooned in a Premier League world, and can count themselves lucky they are not subject to some of the shit they would get in Italy or Germany.
If the worse thing that happens is they get booed once in a while, then they can count themselves lucky, and spend the rest of the time counting the hard-earned that us mugs hand over week after week, without question.

Our players were getting booed in the 70s and 80s. It's not a new thing.Demun210 wrote:As I said on Saturday, maybe I'm old fashioned, but you don't boo your own players. Get pissed off for sure, but you don't boo.
The players and manager live in a different world to us. They don't understand, and more importantly dont want to understand.
They want money at all costs, our opinion is like dirt on their shoe.
I would boo any player who is not giving their all, or had an attitude I disliked or was plainly shite, continually costing us yet Wenger wont do anything.
Half a dozen of our players could eaisly be booed and would be at other clubs and have been at ours.
The likes of Barry Bendtner, Almunia, Denilson, Squallaci and Rosicky and more have been disgracefull this season and more.
