Despite all the evidence to the contrary I'm getting that buzz today .

Time will tell if it's the massive hangover after another long night in Harrys or maybe im coming down with the flu but that butterlies and queasy feeling in the guts has been there all day long .

The fact that we have 1 wheel on the wenger wagon and thats buckled wont make it go away !

In 89 I had it after listening to west ham getting spanked by Liverpool 5-0 ,booked a flight from NYC to London the same afternoon

1991 Away to Sunderland 0-0 was it

In 2004 it was before x-mas that i realised it was getting done at whl but id had the feeling early doors !

If its still there tomorrow I'm booking a flight !

You HERD it here first !
Top post!!! With only a few slight flaws. . . . . . . . .

Pool beat West Ham on May 23rd, 3 days before the end of the season.

As I remember, the Sunderland 0-0 match was the first Saturday in May and we'd lost 1 game all season. We won the league a few days later with a rock solid defence.

The 2004 team were incredible and even Stevie Wonder could see they were gonna be champions.

As for 2011 =
* we're still in March,
* the annual "end of season collapse" has already started
* our best defenders are out for the season,
* we haven't got a goalkeeper,
* our manager keeps picking shit players
* and the current squad evacuate their bowels as soon as anyone puts them under pressure.

Good luck with booking your flight!!

9 wins and it's ours but as we'll win 4 draw 3 and lose 2 I'm afraid the title stays at Chavford Bridge

also the 1991 sunderland away match was after the scousers had lost to chelsea (yep liverpool used to be title challengers ) leaving us with a lead at the top with only a couple of games to go.

I went up to the Sunderland game and had their fans shaking hands before kick off, telling us well done on the title - so you are hardly nostadamous for "getting that feeling" after the result

Also re Anfield 89 I put a bet an each way accumalator on us at the start of the season to win the league, Chelsea to win div 2 (as it was) Wolves to win div 3 and Orient to win 4.

3 0f the 4 came in - It don't mean that I know the lottery numbers for Fridays Euro millions does it.

Good post Herd....I just wish I had those same feelings these days.

I remember feeling the same way when Martin Hayes scored at Middlesbrough in '89 and when Cashley cleared it off the line (sort of :D )against the Hammers in '02.

But sadly I get the exact opposite feelings with this lot.....and when I saw the players on their knees at Wembley last month when we lost in "special circumstances"......I just knew that was the moment that the whole season was about to go up in smoke.

I just hope I'm fucking wrong :barscarf:

Unfortunately our lack of mental strength will cost us dearly!!!

I mean it.

Why Arsene goes on about it is beyond me.

Our lack of cost us against Barca, Man U and Sunderland.

We will drop points Vs Bolton, Stoke. Spuds for sure and probably will Vs Blackburn (can see 1-1) and fulham.

The only time we seem to show any Mental strength is when we are losing against teams that we should easily beat. Never against significant teams.

1998 I got a good feeling when Grimandi hooked it over the Palace goalkeeper in a 1-0 win and was utterly convinced we were going to do it when Overmars scored the winner at Old Trafford

2002 I had it when Ljunberg and Kanu netted for us when it looked like it'd never come in a victory over West Ham at Highbury

2004 I had a good feeling all season but was convinced when Henry got the hat trick against Liverpool at Highbury that Good Friday afternoon.

Haven't had any such feelings this season, the stupid thing is if we found ourselves in a position where we had to go into the final game against Fulham and win to be champions I would be convinced we would bottle it!

That win in 2004 against Liverpool was so important coming of the back of the FA Cup and Champs Lge defeats. 2-1 down at half time, I thought we were gone. Thierry had other ideas !

Who said I was Nostradamus ,I was at Sunder land too? What I did do in 89 though was stick 50 notes on winning the league @ 8-1 and 20 on us winning 2-1 !

I got the feeling yesterday despite everything It was probably indigestion but its still there and I haven't had a beer yet today !

Surely you don't want me to be wrong fellas ?

I've always had a game where I felt we'd win it. Manure (H) in the 2002 season when we came back from 1-0 down was probably the most intense feeling. I just KNEW that day we would win it. But I've had that feeling at some stage every season when we have won it.

Unfortunately I haven't had it this season. I feel very negative at the moment. There are just too many banana skin games coming up for this team. :(
