RVP injured

So basically it has not yet been determined if he is injured or not.

But weâ€™re ranting and raving much like after the league cup final when he was supposedly going to be out for a long time. But wasnâ€™t.

Van Persie currently leads our goalscorers on 11 for the league and 15 overall. He also has 5 assists. And the solution to our woes is to sell him?

Now I donâ€™t confuse very easily but this shit has me stumped.

Wouldnâ€™t the better option be to keep him as clearly he is a very valuable player and still invest in another top class striker instead?

Compare the supposed Â£80k per week contract he has to that of Bendtner on Â£50k per week and this mother thinks Van Persie is a god damned bargain. Even for half a season.

I can't believe anyone would argue against either of those points. FFS - he is one of two world class players that we have left at the club. Signing another striker, preferably one with a decent first touch and a bit of pace, to go alongside the guy has to be the logical answer

yes i would love that. But it wont happen. We will never sign a striker as it will stop Barry and Cham.

Only way is RVP leaves. Its sad to say but i would rather him leave and get somone that can give us a season.

What are you trying to say Mikey? One one hand you say that we won't sign a striker as it would stop Barry and Cham but in the next paragraph you say that if RvP leaves we would sign a striker. If what you are saying comes to pass and RvP is sold surely that means we have Barry and Cham aas first choice with a bargain basement buy arriving as back-up.

This is the sad thing.

At minimum our striker should score 15-20 goals

Some of us really need to take their Arsenal Goggles off sometimes. First of all it was not a friendly game it was a qualification game for 2012 Euro.

As for the "If he loves Arsenal he should retire from international football"...

Have you got no spine? Maybe you have your own issues with your country and origins but most of us are proud of their origins and would be honored to wear the colors of their country!

I totally agree that considering his injury record, RVP should never play any kind of useless friendly game. But for an official game he's got every right to defend his colors and his homeland.

I'm sorry Frenchie, but I stand by what I said earlier, friendly or a Euro qualifer, with his injury common sense must tell him, that by cutting down on games it'll prolong his 'playing career' he has nothing to gain by playing in these imo.

Other players have seen similar sense and quit the international game and prolonged their careers... Giggs and Scholes just two of the top of my head.

He is paid by Arsenal NOT the dutch f.a. !!

I donâ€™t want a striker that gets injured every year. Sometimes at cost of playing for Holland.

Van persie is 27. THe next world cup is in 2014. He'll be 30... If you think 30 is too old for a player then I'll have to tell you that you've spent too much time listening to Wenger.
