Attendances

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Attendances

Post by DDignam »

I think Arsenal have begun to confuse themselves with the way they count attendances.

Againts chelsea they announced a seasons attendance over 2 million, now the arsenal website has announced attendances of 1.8milion through teh gate, but then they qoute the avaergae attendance as 60,045 for a home game, which sounds very close to the ticket sale attendance announced during teh game

you would have thought it would have been easier with electronic gates, bring back the blokes counting stubs, they were more accurate :)

We played 27 home games @ average 60,045 (as you say, this sounds like ticket sales rather than attendance....!). This adds up to 1.6m. A great achievement, but some way short of the 1.8m or 2.0m mentioned previously. Maybe the club are adding in DB testimonial & the two Brazil games.....? Maybe even the Youth Cup games v Cardiff & Man Utd?? Why do they do this? Because it confuses potential investors & keeps the share price high!!!!
