Is it really worth qualifying for the champions league for us anymore? We all know what happens piss the group stage, first knockout round then quarter or semi finals vs cesc's future home? then we all know what happens...
I just think that it would be better not to qualify but focus on the premier league and surely less matches means less injury problems.
I know we have reached the final and semi finals but we will never win it until the players get what wenger believes we already have 'mental strength' !
Just a suggestion for one of the next two or three seasons...
Qualify for Champions League?

I understand that line of thought but when you read quotes from wenger saying how finishing 4th is better than winning a trophy doesnt it make you resent the champs lge and the implications it is having on our clubs ambition ? I would like to see the champs lge cut down to a maximum of 2 teams per country and then we might see some investment in quality players cos losing out on that champs lge money is all these *word censored* care about

Thats not going to happen mate.augie wrote:Perryashburtongroves wrote:Yeah because we're so awash with money that we shouldn't really bother. Why don't we just not enter the league and focus on the Carling Cup for a couple of seasons?

What is the SKY deal for the PL teams? £1billion over 4 years? And you know they are looking for 4 teams in the CL. Every year. God knows what the CL deal is per club.
Take all that away and unless you are Abravomich, you ain't got shit to play with. No matter what the punters are putting through via the turnstile.

we didn't piss the group this year - 3 wins in 3 games beating teams 6-0 and 5-1 at home and then it all went tits up and lost away to Braga and Shakatar
finished second in a very weak group,
although Barca gave us a spanking in the last 2 seasons, i am sure other clubs still in the CL would of turn't us over as well
unless there are changes i can see the day when we finish fourth in the league and get beat in the qualifer

Our team is designed to cut through teams like that at home. That is absolutely their strength. Unfortunately, our weaknesses also mean that we look inept at times of real test.Rosie_titters wrote:we didn't piss the group this year - 3 wins in 3 games beating teams 6-0 and 5-1 at home and then it all went tits up and lost away to Braga and Shakatar
