Board Sells - Kroenke Takes Control Of Club!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Absolutely good news mate. Wenger will now be under a whole lot more pressure as Kroenke is a winner.
Great! Now we will have 20 more years of Wenger and FOOTBALL stagnation! All that American wanker cares about is making money! Why do you think that Hill-Woods etc welcomed him with open arms! The days of Arsenal Football Club winning anything,(other than stock market plaudits),are over. This is a black day in the history of Arsenal Football Club!!!
I agree this is fu*king terrible news for the club

the only good thing that MAY happen is DD coming back

Kroenke

Post by TeeCee »

Kroenke has to give up his majority control of the Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche by 2014 because of NFL rules so maybe he will sell his stake in both of those? He doesn't interfere in the day to day running of his other teams so I wouldn't expect anything to change really at Arsenal (unfortunately).

As for those worrying about him plunging us into massive amounts of debt, may I ask where do you get that feeling from? If you look at his track record with other teams it suggests that he's a wise spender as they're all in very low debts. Just because the Glazers and T&H did that to their clubs doesn't mean every yank billionaire is the same!

The guy is worth around 2.5 billion and his wife is even richer.

He doesn't have the liquid assets (i.e. cash!) available to but the Club outright

Not sure what to make of this as he hasn't given a single interview or any intention of what he wants to achieve. I'll wait before I comment further.

So, the wonderful custodians of Arsenal, those who running the club the right way, might sell there lot for a huge profit, and leave us with a man u style package of debt.

Well, I'm glad we srcimped and saved for the last few year then!

I don't think Kroenke ever did a leveraged buyout mate and if he does now why did he wait 4 years sitting in the board? You'd think he'd of done so long ago already.

Just guessing here but he probably was saving up during the last few years.

Kroenke is known for being not so media friendly, hence the nickname "Silent Stan".

He'll make his intentions known once he takes over.

Come on guys be positive. :barscarf:

Telegraph reporter on Twitter is saying he has bought Danny Fizman and Lady Bracewell-Smiths shares, also a rumor that David Dein is coming back.

Cant really figure out how i feel about this one to be honest becasue of the whole debt issue. I just cant see where he could get 500 million out of seen as he only just bought out the remaining 50% of the St. Louis Rams in the autumn and with the NFL lockout continuing he (his company that own the teams) are are set to lose out on an awful lot of money.

Can I just point out the new UEFA rules coming in. Wouldn't be financially shrewd would it to do a Glazer style deal.

Dein wanted Korenke in from the start didn't he? Be nice to see someone who knew what they were doing for a change. As much as he was a bit of a *word censored*, at least he was an Arsenal *word censored*
